In case you were wondering why your bill was a little bit higher, the transit half-cent sales tax Los Angeles County voted for last November went into effect today. The County's sales-tax rate is now 9.75%.
The first Measure R revenue is scheduled to be received by Metro in in September and will fund highway improvements and public transportation improvements--including a future Westside subway extension.
