An Iowa man almost killed a 4-month old Puggle puppy when he poured straight vodka into the pup's bowl and encouraged the puppy to drink it.
According to the Gazette, Jared L. Colony, 28, was dogsitting the puppy named Pip for 30 minutes on October 17 when he allegedly fed the puppy the alcohol. "When the owner returned, Pip was unresponsive, barley breathing with his tongue hanging out," reports the Gazette.
Colony reportedly told the owner that, “Pip’s just a little drunk right now.”
The puppy was rushed to a veterinary hospital where it spent two days fighting for its life, barely surviving alcohol poisoning, writes the Gazette.
Colony was arrested for animal abuse, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000, and remains in jail on on $5,000 bond.
