My Name is Earl's first three seasons are currently
available on DVD.  The fourth (and final) season
will be available on September 15th.

Twentieth Century Fox Television has announced that My Name is Earl is dead.

After NBC canceled the four-year old series, Twentieth held talks with cable channel TBS about running the show for a fifth season.  However, according to a studio representative's statement, "While we had hoped to find a way to produce additional episodes for TBS, in the final analysis we simply could not make the economics work without seriously undermining the artistic integrity of the series."

With this announcement, any hope fans may have had that they would be able to see the future goings-on of the residents of Camden County are dashed.  As the official statement concluded, they "must put to rest any speculation that Earl will continue," so as painful as it is for Earl's fans, it's time to let this one go.
