Few owners of the 2009 Infiniti G37 entry-luxury sports sedan and coupe are suffering from buyer's remorse, as a resounding 95 percent of them reported in a recent survey by market researcher AutoPacific that they would recommend their car to another consumer.
The G37's score was higher than any other car's in the AutoPacific survey of 25,000 new cars bought or leased between September and December 2008. The compact Honda CR-V and full-size GMC Yukon XL tied for the most highly recommended SUVs, with 93 percent recommendation each, and the Ford F-150 full-size pickup was the most-recommended truck at 89 percent.
The survey asked the owners and lessees: "Would you recommend your new vehicle to a friend or relative?" The choices were "Yes, definitely," "Yes, with reservations," and "No."
There is a school of thought that owners know best when it comes to automotive recommendations. Bear in mind, however, that they may have done minimal or no comparison shopping before they picked their car and therefore may not be able to accurately say whether it is better or worse than its competitors.
That said, it's important for a car to impress its owners, and the cars below fared the best in their classes in the AutoPacific survey:
