It is Monday night. As we get ready to joust with Right wing propaganda machines, tea baggers choo choo ca boogieing across the fruited plain, and pub and con attacks on the health of America, a few notes to start off the week.
Last week The Junkie Rush, almost had a cow when he discovered a twitter post that claimed , while in college President Obama wrote a paper disparaging, that means put down to my tea bagger friends, our sacred constitution and talked about redistributing wealth. Soon the chicken hawk from Missouri found out alas it was a hoax. The befuddled pill popper, in his orgiastic zeal to ferment fear and loathing for our current president, forgot to check his facts. Ok, that's silly I know, Rump Limpnoad doesn't deal in facts. Even people who like him know that.
Even though he admitted he had been punked he refused to apologize. H actually said he wouldn't apologize because even though Obama hadn't said it, " It is how he thinks." He said that! He took a fictitious report, spun in great detail about how our current actually elected President was a dirty commie, and when it became clear that the report was as fake, he still used it as a way to attack the President. If that doesn't make you think twice about anything the man says, or more importantly any one in lock step with him, hannitybeckoreillypragermedvedingrahm, etc. then I have some land in Maricopa Arizona I'd like to sell you, at 2006 prices.
Monday point two. Just to show it not just Rushbo who uses discredited info to attack our President, I watched the only man to ever make me ashamed of my Irish heritage Sean Hammitup. He continues to use a discredited report from the AHIP to attack health care. Last week AHIP a group of health insurance companies who want to continue to only insure the healthy and charge whatever they want, came out with a report stating that if health care reform passes it would drive everyones costs up. Not only was the report deeply flawed, the very accounting firm that did the report for AHIP, Price Waterhouse Cooper, came out and said that AHIP cherry picked their numbers and everyone EVERY ONE realized AHIP was, how can I put this delicately? Lying, flat out lying. Lying like a nineteen year old with a fake id at a college bar. Yet Hammitup still uses the flawed report to attack health care. You know, if you take all the money the heath care industry has spent spinning lies and fear about health care, we probably could all have health care.
Monday point three. The latest below the belt attack by Foxy Boxing News, is the droning question "Does the Obama administration have an enemies list?" Then they do, I almost choke on this, analysis on whether this administration is behaving like Tricky Dick in the 70's. A couple of things. Nixon's enemies list was an actual secret list of people and organizations that the Nixon gang was out to destroy. Destroy by having the IRS audit them. Destroy by using the Justice Dept to prosecute them. Destroy by spying on them and ruining their lives.
The Obama administration has called its enemies out. Out in the open. Out in the noon day sun. They don't need an secret enemies list. Their enemies have proudly proclaimed that they are Obama's enemies! They have created the list and put themselves on it. I hope Obama does not let up on Fox and the out and out liars on con talk radio. I will be chewing into this full force in the coming weeks, and welcome comments, especially from those who want to be on my enemies list!
Monday point four. Two Arizona US Senators refused to vote for an Al Franken amendment to refuse to give government contracts to companies that make it difficult for a raped woman to have her day in court. I have met both of these men. John McCain is a good man. I have not spent enough time with John Kyle to know if he is a good man or not. But remember, these men don't want to do business with Acorn for alleged infractions, but still want to do business with Halliburton, a company that sweeps rape under the rug. That would seem over the top, except Halliburton did worse. When an employee of theirs was gang raped in Iraq, by nineteen male employees of the that company, they didn't sweep it under the rug, they locked her in a crate. That's the Republican Party, that's why I can't abide it.
We will be dealing with this subject in depth in the weeks ahead. I hope no matter what political side you are on, you will support me as we attempt to right this wrong.
