Opening Reception for Paraphernalia
December 4 from 6 to 10 p.m.
The Bakehouse Art Complex presents "Paraphernalia," curated by Carol Damian, Peter Boswell and Bernice Steinbaum. The word paraphernalia has evolved over time. What is now loosely defined as "equipment, apparatus or furnishing used in or necessary for a particular activity", historically referred to a bride's property beyond her dowry. The humorous, historical, political and personal aspects of the word or idea of "paraphernalia" is explored in the paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, video and photography in this nationally juried exhibition.
