PULSE Miami returns to Soho Studios in the Wynwood Art District to present its largest edition to date. Taking place December 3-7, 2008, concurrent with Art Basel Miami Beach, PULSE will feature a range of new exhibitors with 23 countries represented. The more than 100 galleries exhibiting at PULSE Miami include first–time participants ARARIO GALLERY of New York, Beijing, Seoul, and Cheonan, SAKSHI GALLERY of Mumbai, GERING & LóPEZ GALLERY of New York, and Martin Asbæk Projects of Copenhagen. The IMPULSE section will present 19 emerging galleries, 14 of which will be exhibiting for the first time.

PROGRAMMING
PULSE Miami 2008 will present a series of special programs, installations and events, features that have become a signature of the PULSE fairs. The large-scale sculpture and installation program will be curated by Claire Breukel, Executive Director of Miami’s Locust Projects. Breukel has selected works by Leo Villareal, Lincoln Schatz, Mike Estabrook & Ernest Conception, and Justin Cooper, among many others. The PULSE PLAY> video lounge will be curated by Cuban and Canadian based independent curator and critic Magda Gonzalez-Mora, a founder of the Havana Biennale, with works by Isabel Rocamora, Ferheen Haq, Mariana Vassileva, Rodolfo Pereza, and Lazaro Saavedra. PULSE Miami has partnered with the Financial Times and CORE: to present a series of CORE: conversations, daily panel discussions and breakfast talks on contemporary art and its market. Participants include contemporary artists, collectors, curators, and other distinguished art world leaders.

GEISAI Miami
PULSE Miami 2008 is pleased to host the second edition of the acclaimed GEISAI Miami. Produced by Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd., Takashi Murakami’s studio, and modeled after its original Japanese version, GEISAI Miami will provide a group of 35 artists the opportunity to present their work directly to the public in a professional art fair setting.
