Obama stimulates gun and ammunition sales

Arken/Morguefile

No U.S. President has ever energized the gun and ammunition buying consumer in the way that has been created by Barack Obama.  Sales have increased by 300% in response to the fear that he and the Democrats in Congress would clamp down on gun owners.

According to the Business & Media Institute, (4/15/2009) there has been a stockpiling of guns and ammo that Obama has stimulated as gun owners anticipate the steps that he and the Democrats may take to control the industry and ownership.

While other industries in the United States have been closing down because of fears of what Obama will do to private enterprise, firearms manufactures cannot produce products fast enough to supply the demand.  Attendance at gun shows is so heavy that people often have to stand in long lines waiting to enter.

What is interesting is that many of these buyers are new to gun ownership.  They are not necessarily members of the National Rifle Association (NRA).  These people may be motivated by fear as unemployment in the U.S. reaches over 5 million, crime in cities near the Mexican border increases, and of Obama and the Democrats' arrogance in ram-rodding deficit-laden programs down the throats of Americans.

A recent report by Obama's Homeland Security office calling those in involved in anything that does not fit their agenda, such as returning Iraq or Afghanistan War veterans, anti-government activists, those opposed to abortion or immigration, are now considered right-wing extremists and terrorists. Will this give Obama the right to put new restrictions on firearms, to declare martial law and confiscate weapons? These are some of the fears motivating sale.

Does this include people like Gov. Rick Perry of Texas, who is now asserting States Rights?  Or TV broadcasters who do not parrot the Obama line?

What is driving the increase in ammo and gun sales is fear by citizens of a government headed by Obama and the Democrats in Congress. Under their leadership, hope has turned in to panic, fear and terror.

The fear is being driven by articles like this one. The consequences of having 300% more weapons on the street in the hands of people who are driven by fear does make me nervous. I have many friends who have guns and they are trained in their use. The US has the highest death rate by gun in the civilized world because they are available and we are taught everyday that having a gun means I can shoot whoever I wish. When will will change our national story. Other countries have access to weapons without having the same destructive results so we need to work on the story as well as the weapons.

What will help us live with respect and safety.

    With respect, LEP
