God of War III box art (not final).
God of War III is one of the most anticipated exclusive games on the Playstation 3. Sony recently revealed several technical graphical details on their impressive-looking game.
Jeff Rubenstein, the Social Media Manager of SCEA, confirmed on the comment section of the Playstation.Blog that God of War III will run natively at 720p with 1080p upscaling support. Furthermore, Stig Asmussen, the director of the game, revealed in an interview with Arabic gaming site N4GA that his title will have a variable frame rate from 30 to 60 frames per second depending on the amount of action on screen.

Humn, 720p still looks nice but fps between 30 and 60 will kinda ruin it if not done properly.
Well, there goes the 1080p 60fps that everyone was talking about.
Looks great but a far cry of what Sony promoted the hardware capabilities at E3 2005. No wonder Hideo Kojima was let down once he actually started development.

Not liking this announcement one bit. One of the main things i wanted from this game was a rock solid 60fps constantly. i, however, was under no impression that it would be in 1080p unlike the PS3 fanboys.
Informed people haven't been talking about 1080p 60fps for a long time. It was obvious that 1080p would be unattainable without major sacrifices to other aspects of the visuals. The frame rate thing is a little disappointing, though I didn't actually expect a locked 30 either. They've eliminated tearing, which is really important, and I think the final game will run better than the demo at least. We'll see.

@ it already looked good in the demo, 720p can be a painting as well, check out uncharted 2 it runs at 720 30fps and its the most good looking game on consoles.

Dante's inferno looks like a PS2 or xboxgame.
Graphics are complete crap, that's why it runs at 60fps. It does nothing.
God of war 3 pushes the graphic envelope further then any game so far, i've played the latest build on a titan and it is the best looking game i've ever seen. And i have crysis dx10 maxed.
60fps is with the action, some of the panned shots are 30fps.
Not being funny mate, but it runs at 60FPS with video scenes at 30-60FPS. Much like Dante's Inferno. The game-play is 60 FPS and has not dropped below 59.7 FPS. Also The graphics in GOW III are 4 x that of Dante's Inferno.
God Of War III is expanding on what the franchise has seen before and attempting to push well beyond anything games like Dante’s Inferno or Bayonetta have attempted

because look at games like mgs4 they dropped the frames also maybe itll give it a more cinematic feel. 60fps on cut scenes makes it look funny... esp on scenes of epic scale... look at dantes inferno when the boat comes in at 60 the screen doesnt even shake...

Wouldn't be an article on a PS3 exclusive (Real game) without jealous, ignorant 360 fanboys who are too poor to afford a real console. PS3 exclusives win "GOTY" and "Best Graphics" awards at the VGA's while 360 exclusives can't even win "Best 360 Game". That's how pathetic Microsoft's last - gen 360 is.
Alan Wake probably won't even be able to do native 720p because the 360 would overheat and RROD if it did, Halo: Reach has the same graphics as Halo 2. Microsoft have to give their games lousy graphics because their machine can't handle it. If it can't handle a Blu - Ray disc how's it supposed to handle native 1080p and 60fps?
Enjoy your last - gen alien games. PS3 owners have real games to play and to look forward to. I don't blame you for being jealous.

God of WAR 3: game of the year edition probably includes more boss fights, all DLCs,extended gameplay and 1080p HD.
