Serene Branson may have suffered stroke reporting live from Grammys (videos)
On February 13, 2011, two time Emmy award winning Los Angeles journalist Serene Branson stumbled through her on air, live coverage of the Grammys prompting grave concern from viewers and network officials alike. Early reports now suggest that Serene Branson may have suffered a stroke while on air.
In a report by The Daily Telegraph it was announced that Serene Branson may have suffered the stroke on air and was hospitalized. Serene Branson is with CBS 2 News and is an award winning journalist having won the Frank Shakespeare Award for Outstanding Achievement in Journalism. Ms. Branson began her reporting career as an intern at KCAl 9, according to a report by CBS Los Angeles and was one of the few given access to the execution of Clarence Ray Allen at San Quentin State Prison.
It is unclear what Serene Branson’s medical diagnosis is currently but reports following the on air broadcast were not favorable. Immediately following the on air slurred speech, viewers took to Twitter and taunted the reporter, making fun of her mishap. As it appears Ms. Branson may have suffered a serious medical illness, and the display was not a laughing matter.
