During a guest appearance on ‘Fox & Friends’ Tuesday, Fox News Channel Commentator Glenn Beck said he believes President Obama is a racist. He said the President has “a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture.”
Beck made his remarks during a discussion of the recent arrest of African American professor, Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Obama’s public reaction to it. Gates was arrested for disorderly conduct after a misunderstanding about a break-in at his home.
“I’m not saying he doesn’t like white people. He has a problem. This guy is, I believe, a racist,” said Beck.
Beck’s statements did not go unchallenged and Fox host Brian Kilmeade said that most of the people who work for the President are white.
Fox News Senior Vice-President, Bill Shine, said that Beck had “expressed a personal opinion which represented his own views, not those of the Fox News Channel. And as with all commentators in the cable news arena, he is given the freedom to express his opinions.”
According to the Associated Press, a spokesperson for the President, William Burton, said the White House had no comment on Beck.

Beck is goofy. Sounds like he's made the same mistake Obama did, speaking rashly. Does he not realize Obama is also white?

Even though he has a white momma, he claims to be black. As a black person, I think it's insulting for him to call himself black. I don't consider him the first black president but maybe the first 1/2 black president. I think Beck's on to something. Obama gets himself into things that are none of his business and shoots off about them without stopping to think. He's not doing a very good job either.

Glen Beck is the guy in school who made fun of the nerd kids so that other kids would like him be he's secretly a nerd himself. he's an intellectual midget, and has no business speaking out about anything, except to other small minded Republicans, oh, I mean morons.

MAYBE Obama has a dislike of whites because of his upbringing. As his black father and other black family abandoned him and he has twisted that somehow into a white dislike. Self hate type of thing we see many whites are afflicted by. Particularly lieberal whites.
Glenn does the thinking for those of us who can't think for ourselves. He scares me and he gives me hope at the same time. Sometimes I forget why I hate everyone else in the world, but Glenn reminds me every morning and keeps me coming back for more.
Hmmm is he black or white and what does that even mean if we are supposed to be pro unity? What makes him black his color, his spirituality, his mentality. I happen to think he is a nice warm brown color and it looks good on him but does that make him black or is being black spiritually more important? I have fellowshipped in black churches and found the black people there to be very fervent believers in God and his teachings. Barack does not even come close to any of those ideals in blieving that science should define our morals not religion. He does not speak out against the atheist hate mongers who wish to undermine the Christian focus of our country and those ideals Black churches stand for. So what about mentality? Does being black meaan you think differently than whites when it comes to life in general? Do not black and white people all want a good carreer they enjoy, a nice car to drive, and a nice house to live in? As to Glenn he is warning us about Obama the divider.
Why is this wrong to be said? I am so tired of Kanye's quote "George Bush hates black people" being re-written as "George Bush doesn't care about black people." You can't change history, and that quote, when utterred was ok. Now we have Glenn Beck, who finally said what became clear to me when the President opened his mouth at his press conference!

So the prez doesn't know all the facts but calls out the police as stupid... then goes into a rant about race in America ... now we know that race had nothign to do with it !!!! Sounds good to me Glenn....
Since Obama is aware that he is half white, it would make sense that he is okay with that. It would make sense he then automatically has no bias against white people, but that isn't always true. It isn't in Obama's case.
-His obvious connection with Jeremiah Wright. Obama claims that even though the guy married he and his wife Michelle, he didn't know anything about Wright's views. That was a total lie, and Rev. Wright would've totally agreed with Obama's statements regarding the Henry Louis Gate's incident.
- The recent speech Obama gave at the 100th for the NAACP. It probably made Chavez and Castro proud. It was similar to one of their own in both tone and content.
-Obama's refusal to wear the American flag pen or place his hand on his heart during the anthem.
- Obama's "spreading the wealth" comment. Minorities are owed by the mean and opressing whites.
Obama's friends like Henry Gates, Jeremiah Wright and his appointees like Sonia Sotomayor, share his views.

Why is the audicity of making this statement the only arguement against it? Challanging people in power and calling out possible racism is a founding tenent of liberal/progressive doctrin. No president has been subject to more personal attacks than George Bush and every night that called for laugh tracks, both the valid and invalid attacks were given the same credibility. President Obama HAS made racially motivated statements and overlooking them doesn't change that. If you can defend them go ahead, but why say they didn't happen? This destroys the credibility of his defenders in my opinion and says the emotional attachment to this man is stronger than any capacity for critical thought. It doesn't take a lot of research to find more cases like his reaction to Gates' arrest where his kneejerk reaction is to prejudge the officer as "stupidly" racist and the arrested black person as persecuted. what is the definition of racism? Is it true black people can't be racist? seriously?
You have to remember that Obama condoned what Gates did. He believed that Gates racial slurs were justified. You did not hear Obama come out publicly to say the way Gates spoke to the officer was wrong. When Gates saw a "white" cop, he say red. Obama's reaction on the other hand were borderline. Obama and Gates both need counseling but nether are man enough to admit it. The first step is admitting that you need help.

Glen, you need to stop this desperation! Even though there are plenty of historical good reasons for people of color not to gravitate toward white culture because of your hatred for us, things between the races are improving mainly because there are lots of white people who are not like you.

I dont know much about Beck, but to the others, I suggest you read Obama's own book, wherin you will get some insight into his thoughts on his white grandmother, and whites in general. A text-book racist, maybe doesnt fit the techical definition, but bias and prejudice...well, read the book and judge for yourself
Obama and his friends speak loud and clear. I think Beck sees things clearly and we should all be concerned for our country. If you want this type of O-CHANGE....then you should be fine with anything O gives you. The rest of us will listen to all the double speak coming out of BARRY'S mouth and prepare for the worst.
