Missing time, near-death experiences and UFO's color the witness statements of Talen Couey, a Portland, OR musician who visited the ECETI Ranch in Trout Lake, WA. Couey attended the 2010 Science, Spirit and World Transformation Conference along with 300 international participants (including numerous Canadians and Vancouver residents) over the July 4th long weekend. Couey is featured in a new video from the event showing UFO's flying near Mt. Adams, changing colors and flashing iconic symbols in the sky. He also spoke recently to the Secret Message Report podcast, describing his UFO experiences within the context of a journey of personal spiritual discovery unfolding over the course of the young man's lifetime.
Missing time and UFO's
The concept of missing time as a characteristic of UFO contact was popularized through the 1966 book “The Interrupted Journey”, which told the story of Betty and Barney Hill and their 1961 encounter with extraterrestrials. Key evidence in the story was revealed under hypnosis through sessions the Hills undertook with Dr. Benjamin Simon, a Boston psychotherapist. The popular book was made into a 1975 television movie featuring actor James Earl Jones in the role of Barney Hill.
Hypnotic memories
Hypnosis, as used in the Hill case, remains a popular procedure amongst contemporary UFO abduction researchers. Proponents include Budd Hopkins, Deborah Lindemann, Dolores Cannon, Barbara Lamb, Mary Rodwell and the late Dr. Karla Turner, who once said of hypnosis that, “[I]t may be the only tool we have to get certain pieces of information (or levels of information) back up to the conscious state.”
A better approach?
Examiner.com has reported several instances where a less invasive approach has been used successfully to reveal the unconscious secrets of UFO experiencers. A series of informative articles shows a new procedure that monitors peoples' spoken testimonies through a mirror filter to detect unconscious communications. Clinical services available now help members of the public navigate the unconscious corridors of personal UFO contact, illuminated by guidance provided by their own inner voice, from any location in the world where telephone services are available.
The Hills revisited
A demonstration of mirror-filtered communications extracted from the statements of Barney Hill as given under hypnosis reveals new dimensions of communications hidden within existing evidence from the famous case, one that placed the topics of UFO abduction and missing time on the cultural map of western consciousness.
Barney Hill's secret message
In an audio recording of Barney Hill during which he speaks while under hypnosis about his missing time during the 1961 encounter, Hill stated that, “I drive and Betty is still looking. And she says, 'Barney, that is not a plane. It's still following us.' And I stop and look and see it is still out there, off in the distance. So I search for a place to pull off the road.”
The mirror filter applied to Hill's remarks reveals the secret message, “Whoever followed us, sees their saucer.” Click here to listen.
Hill's secret message appears to validate claims that the roots of the couple's missing time encounter were extraterrestrial in origin. The word “saucer” has also been detected hidden backwards in the remarks of other UFO experiencers including President Jimmy Carter and Col. Charles Halt, who led an American military team into the Rendlesham Forest to investigate a major 1980 UFO incident. If the mirror filter can reveal insights into taped testimonies from witnesses describing events from nearly 50 years in the past, what does it tell us about missing time experiences that people are describing today?
Missing the beat while driving
During his podcast interview, Talen Couey told the Secret Message Report audience that, “I got picked up by Tommy [one of the conference attendees] ... Thursday ... We hop on the highway 84 when we head out of town ... driving, like 20 minutes, keep on 84 ... we get engaged in a deep, very very good spiritually productive conversation ... What snapped us out of the conversation was these two bald eagles appeared out of nowhere, right in front of the car on the highway ... We were like, 'What? ... Whoa dude!' ... we thought we were about to ... hit 'em. ... they were flying and they were circling each other in ... a DNA pattern. They flew off to the left and that's what snapped us out of the conversation.
And I looked around us and I'm like, 'Wait a second man, how are we on I-5? ... Tommy, I gave you the wrong directions, man. I'm really sorry.' And I look again and we just passed by Kelso and Longview, which is an hour and a half deep into Washington from Portland. And we've only been driving for ... 25, maybe 30 minutes .. I'm like, 'Whoa Tommy, I'm so sorry man. We could have been at the ranch by now.'
He's like, 'Talen, I thought you gave me the right directions.' [And I said], 'I'm sorry, I thought I did too. I'm so sorry.' ... [W]e turned around and I'm really thinking about it ... because I felt extremely uneasy. [I asked], 'Tommy ... do you remember driving over the Columbia river at all?' And he's like, 'No, I don't.' I'm like, 'Yeah, yeah I don't understand how we're an hour and a half deep in Washington either, man.' We were on 84. ... We were both like, 'Okay, let's just logically drive back and see how we feel.' So we merge on 205 and we get over to the river and we're both like, 'Oh my god, we did not drive over this river.' Now, mind you too, I've been on this whole highway area, the 84, 205 and I-5 like hundreds of times. I knew [that something mysterious had happened], but I was still trying to be [logical].”
Couey's secret message
In his remarks, Couey told the Secret Message Report audience that both Tommy, the driver of the vehicle, and himself were “transported from 84. You know, 20 minutes deep into 84 and possibly ... ended up an hour and a half deep into Washington, way ahead of any sort of 205 road [connecting] on I-5 ... You had to drive across the whole highway ... for like 20 miles to get to I-5, from how it could have possibly happened. And it just didn't happen ... I wish I could tell you, man. I have no idea what happened on that experience right there.”
Under the lens of the mirror filter, Couey's statement reveals the secret message, “Ride those ships. Get in on the final wave.” Click here to listen.
This message from Couey's unconscious mind appears to link the missing time experience with concepts of ships and their occupants, or riders. Messages describing “spaceships” have also been detected in the voices of NASA astronauts including John Glenn and Michael Collins, suggesting UFO encounters during the Friendship 7 earth orbit and the Apollo 11 flight to the moon.
Cosmic rider, heavenly vehicle
The concept of the rider and the heavenly or flying disc vehicle can be traced as archetype back to First Nations imagery, as suggested in Bill Reid's contemporary sculpture, “The Raven and the First Men”, currently on display at the the University of British Columbia’s Museum of Anthropology. This archetype can also be found in the iconography of South Asia, where Visnu is depicted wearing a garland of discs while riding the cosmic eagle, Garuda. The 1969 Hollywood film Easy Rider iconifies the biker riding the transcendental Captain America chopper as the counterculture yogi who lives close to nature and encounters UFO's during an inner directed journey against the grain of history, or backwards in time.

Eagle and infrared nightvision
Visualizing the iconography of Couey's missing time experience is aided by infrared video images recorded during the ECETI conference. During his inteview, Couey stated that a sighting of eagles was instrumental in the awakening of both participants in the missing time event to a new awareness of their unexpected location in space, 90 minutes north on the I-5 highway. Serendipitously, an image of an eagle was unexpectedly discovered in the recording of a silent UFO power-up near a stream by the ECETI ranch over the July 4th weekend.
A flash overhead
One night during the conference, both this reporter and one other witness were inspecting the nearby country road for conventional sources of light phenomena being observed through the trees at the western edge of the ECETI Field of Dreams. Suddenly, the trees overhead became illuminated by a soft blue-white light, as if a flash bulb had silently gone off overhead. Talen Couey was manning the infrared camera at this time and the silent UFO power-up seen on the video appears to represent the order of phenomena required to generate the kind of light which illuminated the trees observed by both witnesses on the ground directly below.
Symbol of freedom
One still frame from the power-up reveals the head, in profile, of a bald eagle formed in the coronal emissions of the silent UFO. Were Couey's missing time eagles a spiritual manifestation of the same order of phenomena as those recorded by the camera in infrared light? A phenomena originating from within the image-generating mechanisms of advanced transportation and environmental-influencing technologies controlled by mysterious visitors whose behaviours are known by those occupying the intellectual margins of cultural creatives and official secret-keepers?
Near-death encounter
Couey explained that although he had experienced missing time in the past, the ECETI missing time was the most dramatic experience of this type he could recall from his personal history. Further probing revealed that Couey had also logged a near-death experience as an adolescent. The term “near-death experience” or NDE was popularized in the 1975 book “Life after Life” written by Dr. Raymond Moody.
“When I was in eighth grade all I remember is that ... I went to bed, I was reading Calvin and Hobbs comic books. And I fell asleep in my bed, then I woke up in the ICU [Intensive-Care Unit] ... apparently I was labelled dead three times that night. I was in a state of shock while I was in the hospital. I only weighed ... 80lbs and I was throwing people ... [I]t took ... 10 people to hold me down ... they don't know what caused the whole state. ... But I didn't see a light or anything. I don't remember seeing anything. All I remember is just going to sleep and I woke up in [the] Intensive-Care Unit.”

Achieving liftoff
Unlike the interrupted journey followed by the characters from Easy Rider, Couey's contact attempts at ECETI did not suffer a failure to launch, a scenario epitomized by the bad acid trip scene from Dennis Hopper's 1969 film.
Couey described a mystical experience he had while sitting amongst the volcanic rocks exposed on the ground at the ranch. “My fingers started tingling ... there was this bird that squawked right in front of me ... sitting on one of the little stacks of rocks. He was right in front of me. It kind of surprised me so I opened my eyes ... and he squawks again, and then he flies off ... as soon as he flew off I was [infused] just completely with ... energy ... I was look at my skin. All of my skin throughout my body was rippling. Like you drop a rock into a lake ... a pond or something like that ... It was just all rippling. I felt like I was ... 2000 lbs, and I was hearing these voices audibly [saying] “We are here and we love you.”
The experience intensified further. “I started levitating off the ground .. I was a couple of inches off the ground ... I was kind of freaking out!” Couey commented that the levitation ended when his mind became aware of his body's apparent immunity to the conventional force of the earth's gravity. Like the winged disc of First Nations tradition, the eagle projected in infrared profile by the ECETI UFO and the cosmic rider of yoga literature, Couey had indeed achieved liftoff.
Yogic perspectives
Visnu as the cosmic rider on the eagle Garuda, wearing the garland of seven discs, is iconic of the higher intelligence controlling the luminous saucers, or chakras of the human body. In yoga physiology, the higher functions of mind harnessed through disciplined meditation control the performance of lower instinctive behavioural responses to environmental stimuli. This hierarchical orientation illuminates seven locations in the body aligned with the spinal column beginning at the tip of the tail bone and ending at the crown of the skull. To the meditation practitioner, Visnu descends from heaven to absorb the mind of the devotee in spiritual rapture known as “Samadhi”, or liberation from reincarnation and absorption into infinite bliss.
The eagle in Couey's missing time experience as revealed in both Couey's secret message and the infrared video image is a symbol of the presence of higher intelligence acting on the minds of two spiritual adventurers, abducting their awareness of mundane conditions while absorbing their minds in the bliss of collegial contact. To this reporter, the evidence describing a connection between contemporary UFO intelligences and the Visnu-Garuda-chakra iconography of classical south asian philosophy remains as indelible as the colors of freedom staining the digital emulsion of the bald eagle image projected by the silent UFO captured over the July 4th weekend in videotaped evidence from the ECETI Ranch.

Comments
Interesting story. Not to take away from his experience, but Kelso is only 35-45 minutes from Portland depending on how fast you are driving. Claiming that it was 90 minutes just diminishes the credibility of his experience.
The mirror speech . . . what absolute nonsense.
whoa like hey dude, don't take the brown acid man
i love the eagles, Im already gone.
You can see the stars, and still not see the light.
Absolutely brilliant! way to connect things. And note to Pinakesh, I've driven up to kelso for business quite a few times from north portland and its at least an hour. so technically, it's maybe not ninety minutes but it does not diminish his experience, and i don't care how deep you get into a conversation, you think you would remember driving over the columbia river if you did actually drive over the columbia river. It's the goddam columbia for crying out loud. driving across it on the 205 takes a good 3 to five minutes.
