The lie detector test "failed" by UFO contactee Stan Romanek was a "set-up", according to Brent Lussiks, a University of Colorado student majoring in business. Lussiks stated that he has informed Coast to Coast AM, which paid for the test, that the polygraph examiner bragged about his tactics to discredit Romanek, during a meeting at a coffee shop with the student.
Romanek’s controversial “alien in the window video” was a primary focus of the questioning. A still photo from the video became a global news and Internet sensation on May 30, 2008 when the video was shown at a press conference in Denver, Colorado. The media event was organized by the EXTRA Campaign to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission.
The authenticity of the video and still photo have been hotly debated. The announcement by George Noory ,of Coast to Coast AM, that Romanek failed the lie detector test, was seen by some as a blow to Romanek's credibility. The controversy continued despite the common knowledge that such tests are unreliable and are not generally accepted as evidence in a court of law.
In an e-mail to Coast to Coast AM, Lussicks said:
“Coast to Coast -- My name is Brent, I go to school at CU Boulder Colorado. A few months back I listened to one of your shows about a guy named Stan Romanek, who you guys had take a lie detector test. Through a friend I was able to meet the person involved in administering the actual test to Stan at a coffee shop. Fascinated I started asking questions. After an hour or so of talking to this guy I realized it was a total setup. It was apparent that this guy is religious fanatic! The more we talked the more he revealed, Stan never had a chance from the beginning.
This guy told me that he would repeat the same question over and over until he found a questionable response to use. He told me that he wouldn't let them film him just in case and that he had a 'moral obligation to stop the blasphemer', as he put it! He then told me it took him nine tries before he found one he could use against Stan. By the time I was finished talking to this nut I wanted to hit him, there is no justice in this world!
I truly hope Coast to Coast had nothing to do with this I am contacting the Lie Detector Board to report this guy I am also going to see about putting this in the college newspaper. Either Coast to Coast is the perpetrator of this set up or you guys didn't know. Either way, someone needs to make this right! I am forwarding this email to others including Stan, if I can find his email address!”
There is no indication that George Noory, of Coast to Coast AM, had any foreknowledge of the personal motivation of the test examiner who was allegedly intent on discrediting Stan Romanek.
If claims of Lussicks prove true, it could thrust the Romanek story back into the spotlight of discussions about disclosure of UFOs and visitations to Earth by extraterrestrial intelligent beings. It would also justify suspicions that several people had about the polygraph test before and after it was conducted.
The polygraph examiner, Glenn R. Knipscheer, knew prior to conducting the test, that Romanek had been previously diagnosed with three different health disorders. Any one of these disorders would have given an examiner justification to disqualify Romanek from taking the test, in accord with the code of ethics for polygraph examiners. Additionally, an audiotape of the polygraph session revealed that some of the questions asked of Romanek, had two-parts but only one “yes” or “no” answer was allowed. Knipscheer was a member of the Colorado Association of Polygraph Examiners at the time of the test.
The discovery of Lussicks could also strengthen claims by UK hacker Gary McKinnon of finding UFO photos in NASA files, and further support the global demand for disclosure of such files from all governments.

The only place you can see the video right now is at one of Stan's talks. He is doing a talk today Saturday Feb 14th at the Tivioli Center,for Colorado MUFON.
on the 3rd floor, from 2pm to 5 pm.If you can not come to the talk, ABC is doing a 1 hour program on Stan and his story and the video will be released at that time for everyone to see. It has been a long time in coming, but it is finally going to be released!!! As for the na sayers who do not want to believe that the video is real all I can say is that We know what happened that night, and what has transpired of the past 8 years, you make up your own minds about what you want to beleive or not beleive.

This is the second big set-up of a lie detector test. The first major one last year was Larry Sinclair. Why do people not check the people doing these tests first. We struggle enough getting a balanced view on this field as it is.
Anyway - the footage should be released to everyone by now instead of continuing to keep it for a few at conference events.

There seem two possibilities: 1) Stan was not lying, and this student is correct that it was a setup. 2) Stan has been lying all long, and so it is not a leap to imagine he'd get some anonymous person to call this story in.
Until we hear more about this student, and until we hear more from the polygraph examiner, this is all complete speculation. And if you believe one side or the other without further evidence, it shows you have your own agenda.
However, since the student is the one making the accusation, the burden of proof of that claim is now on him. And if he cannot prove his claim, then it should be thrown out, and we are back to the original state of things: Stan did not pass the test.
What does it matter now whether Stan passed or failed the test, it is in the past and can not be undone. The damage to Stan's credibility was done by a biased examiner, who did not care to stop the examination even after Stan asked to stop to deal with a low blood sugar issue that he is medically disable from. If we had known that health problem like these would affect the results Stan would never have done the test, and then everyone would have talking about how Stan was affraid of failing and refused Coast to Coasts offer to pay for it. It was a lose - lose situation, and sadly no one sees that.It amazes me still that the examiner did not disqualify Stan as soon as he was made aware of the health issues that Stan suffers from. That in itself tells me that the man was trying anything possible to get a questionable response, and eventually accomplished his goal, and then informed Stan that he failed, because of 1 questionable response. Sadly Stan was positive he would pass he knows what has experienced is real. He was looking forward to the test that day so he could finally say...I told you so! Only to told that he failed... He was as shocked as all of us were. As I said what is done is done.
I hope that this student Brent can back up what he says, so that this examiner can not feel responsible for discretiting any more blasphmers( as the student relayed him saying).
you know what really upsets me about this whole thing...that even if Stan had passed the examination, someone whould have come up with "Stan was coached in techniques to pass the test." or if you tell yourself the same lies long enough they are no longer lies in your mind...I heard these before Stan ever took the test, so no matter what the outcome was pass or fail, Stan was going to be made to look like a liar.
UFOlogy is only taken seriously by those of us who know the truth, have faith in those experiencers who are trying to make a difference,the investigators,the government, and the nut jobs( you know who you are) who want to stop the truth from being revealed.

And just so you all know when scientist are doing the analysis for free and on there own time, it does not just get bumped to the top of the list of priorities...so you all need to come to grips with that as well. I have not heard before much about any lie detector tests, but this would not surprise me that it was a 'set up'. I would urge a new test by a company that has a solid reputation in this field, and has no bias regarding the material.
Since my own "no doubt about it" sighting at Foggy Bottom (DC) in 2000, I have had my eyes opened not only to the UFO phenomenon, but also that there is a major, major, major cover-up as well as massive disinformation campaigns, infiltration of UFO groups by the intelligence community, and they will use anyone (such as a "religious fanantic" or whatever) to discredit those who are actually telling the truth.
I have been closely following the Stan Romanek case since a few years ago and know Stan, his family and friends, and I have been around a few times now and experienced rather bizarre things; I do not attempt to explain them--not my job. But they do seem to support the other stories of strangeness I have heard; why would I doubt the phenomena I was not personally present to witness? I've seen enough to be convinced.
I am sure Stan would pass a fair and unbiased lie detector test. But great care should be taken to see that it is done in a purely ethical and scientific manner. Period.

I was at Stan’s talk in Denver, along with hundreds of others when the UFO’s flew over us. I watched them with my own two eyes! There is no way Stan could have faked that!

he ran and got his camera and as he shot pic it in a flash went about 3 miles and stopped in a couple seconds

Feloniuspunk and others - You are coming to wrong conclusions based on your own incorrect observations. I was not “WITH Stan when he came forward with news about the video”. The media were invited to a public showing of his video in January of 2008. I was merely sitting in the back of the room as part of the audience of about 300 people. But the news media did not attend in any noticeable numbers and did not report on Stan’s video in any significant way. I started the ballot initiative three months later so that the public could get informed about the UFO and ET phenomena directly without depending on controlled and disinterested media.
Prior to the May 30 press conference, there had already been two waves of UNsolicited global media coverage on the ballot initiative. They were familiar with me so it’s logical that they would invite me to talk in follow-up interviews about more news on the ballot initiative and then Stan’s video.
The press conference started out as a small informal meeting as a courtesy to some local reporters who asked to see some of the evidence that compelled me to launch the ballot initiative. The media itself built the event into a big deal with claims of “ultimate proof” of aliens on earth, etc. I always referred to the video as just one sliver of evidence from Stan’s case. Some of the whistleblower testimony from the Disclosure Project was also presented and each of the 30-40 media reps were given a DVD with 2 hours worth of similar testimony and 500 pages of supporting documents. They chose to focus on the video and still photo of the ‘alien’ and showed the whistleblower excerpts only the background of some news segments.
Stan was not even at the May 30 press conference. As I’ve said before, I have no connection or control of the video and never had it in my possession. I’ve never even discussed deriving any income from any of Stan’s materials, with him or anyone connected to his case.
Thank you Lisa and Starseed for your comments and I’m sorry that these attacks have caused you to use your valuable time in defending Stan or me. Lisa, you and Stan have endured a lot of hardship over the years and have a remarkable story to tell. Please keep telling it and allow the truth to flow around the rocks of ingnorance.

Mr. Peckman- I have the up most respect for you and project disclosure please dont get me wrong. My observations were correct however, you were on the Letterman show, all over the news and I believe on Larry King taking about the video. I want to believe Stan. I really do, but I know BS when I see it. The Paranexus people who spent time with the Romaneks even said so. People that generally are only in it for the money and full of BS. History says so.
One of the things that I think should be considered here, is that if it is true that Stan's lie detector results could not be seen as reliable because of his health issues, might those same health issues also make his claims in general unreliable for the same reason?
For example, if one of these illnesses was Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, some of the symptoms is that the person can experience flashbacks, and lose touch with reality. Knowing that of a person, it is quite reasonable to doubt the person's claims of extraordinary events.
Also, if there is a belief that a person like this really is being harassed, but otherwise is trustworthy, it would not be unreasonable to ponder whether the figures caught on tape were faked as part of that harassment (by the same people), and not valid at all.
Perhaps there are some good cases out there, with video, and healthy people, and lie detector tests that are reliable. But considering all the issues involved here, it does not seem a good idea for any movement to make this case too visible to their cause, much less as a flagship example of 'good evidence'.

Rj i would like to address your concern about Stan's health issues.They are not of the kind that would make his testimony about what he has witnessed and experienced unreliable.A lot of his issues were a result of these experiences or at least that is when they all started,what they are should not be anyones business except Stan's so we will leave it that way. He is quite in touch with reality more so than mostos us.You know you may be right about some of the viseo being part of the harrassment, but how would they go about putting a shadow in our house that looked like heat waves on the highway, and only looked like a shadow when the photos were looked at on the camera. As confusing as it is for all of you, imagine how confusing it has been for us over the many years. The "fact" that things happen to Stan only when there are " a lot of people around" is not what he has stated. He seems to have been alone when the video of the Alien in the window was shot. When the Alien in the Kitchen (Audrey) incident, and all of his abduction experiences such as the time loss and implant.
So I believe that RJ makes more sense than the rest of this conversation.

According to Stan, the video of the alien in the kitchen was followed up by a call from Audrey who told him that it was not really an alien.
We have done our research and have the documentation to back it up.
We have seen Stan flip on his stories about this event and if the alien as real or if Audrey called or not but that is one of the many holes in the story that we have seen over the years.

Actually, RJ’s questions and comments are reasonable and have been brought up before. But in a court of law they could be easily dismissed. And whereas polygraph tests are rarely admissible in court, Stan has an abundance of evidence that would be admissible including corroborating witnesses and expert witnesses. So as the evidence becomes more widely known by the general public, the case will play out in the court of public opinion.
However, unlike a real court, no one can be ejected from the room or fined for “contempt”, no matter how contemptible their behavior is. But I can delete postings myself if they appear designed to harass others or disrupt more useful discussion. Please keep that in mind.
It will also be helpful if everyone avoids making such generalized statements because there are always exceptions. I will try to do the same.
So for example, feloniouspunk observed correctly that I was on Letterman's show and other media interviews and I would obviously not dispute that. But it should be equally obvious that being invited for an interview to talk about Stan and other related topics does not mean I have access to, control of, or any influence on, any of Stan's evidence. Hopefully that is clear enough now.
Mr. Bonner, I have had the opportunity to follow this case for some time now. I have also had the privilege to discuss the case with some of the scientists involved with Stan. I can tell you that this case has some of the top Universities and scientists in the world investigating every aspect of Stan’s experiences and the evidence he has acquired. I doubt you have even the slightest idea what you are doing! It is peculiar that you and your Rocky Mountain Paranormal friends only rear your ugly little dye job heads when a high profile case comes along. We have also followed this case for "some time" and if you follow the "evidence" the scientists that are working on the case are affiliated with U.F.O. research as a whole. This means research with a skewed viewpoint because of the facts that they are believers from the start. Whenever anyone with an skeptical viewpoint is mentioned they are shunned as "Non-believers" and "Debunkers" (see Jeff Peckmans Larry King interview)
However we have talked to many different sources of "Expert" and they agree with the facts that the extraordinary claims do not have the evidence to back them up.
Who are these people? Well Lets look at a few of them to see what credentials they have.
David Grinspoon (Denver Astrophysicist, Denver Museum of Nature and Science) stated that claims of the equations Stan came up with as nothing new or interesting.
James "The Amazing" Randi (Founder of JREF Its aim is to promote critical thinking by reaching out to the public and media with reliable information about paranormal and supernatural ideas so widespread in our society) He stated that this is these are the same types of claims that have come before and will be supported by people of the same mindset.
Seth Shostak (Astrophysicist - Head Astronomer for SETI "Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence") He has stated that there is no proof of behind the claimed evidence. He works under Dr. Frank Drake, which Stan seems to like due to the fact that he uses his equation to help push the agenda.
I do find it interesting that you feel the need to defend your case (kevin) by reverting to personal attacks "your ugly little dye job heads". That is a very professional way to help promote a cause that you seem to believe in. It shows that you realize that nobody does take you seriously.
But I think that this can be best said by another person who spent his life looking for Extraterrestrial life, Dr. Carl Sagan:“I think that the alien abduction enthusiasts understand the need for physical evidence. It's the pathway to some degree of respectability. And for 40 years, they've been telling us that real evidence is just around the corner, it's about to be released, it's

It sounds like he is talking about this case? Unfortunately he died over 10 years ago.

I really do not want to argue with you about this but I am willing to have a discussion about the facts. The alien in the window was filmed in Nebraska on July 17,2003 the details do not change, The 2nd alien video was filmed in Colorado Springs on March 5th,2005 in the dining room looking in through the sliding glass door, 3 years later on February 14,2008 almost exactly a year ago, Audrey did indeed call and informed someone in the group that the being we called Grandpa gray was not real, and that the Government was going to use it to discredit Stan and that he should beat them to the punch by telling the public right away about the phone call, and he did that!!!, Now as for my opinion, not that it matters much but I do not beleive that the Audrey call was from the real Audrey... Stan has always been upfront about the voice program that one of the team located that sounded like the caller, and I think that someone who does not want this information to come out is also using the Audrey program to make calls of there own, and in doing so creating confusion about this event... It is only my opinion. As far as proof being right around the corner, maybe he was not saying that he or anyone would provide it to you, and that maybe you need to open your eyes and look at the proof, it does not have to be in Stan's case, and that is fine, but look and it may be right around the corner. The "researchers" Baxter and Bonner only have seen a tiny piece of the Romanek evidence. They have only seen what Stan has shown in his public presentations. Therefore, their opinions are simply that, opinions. They have not been invited to examine the photographic, video, physical, or trace evidence. They have not been invited to investigate at the Romanek's. I doubt they ever will; even though they have asked Stan on many occasions. Their method of operation is too destructive. They have never shown that they are truly serious investigators; only have been intent on rushing to judgement without sufficient investigation, usually in order to fufill their own "starstruck" agenda. Stan is willing to allow serious investigators to examine the case and evidence, and perhaps even investigate at his home, however, there is no room for unprofessional behavior. How can someone say that all the scientists involved have a UFO agenda? They don't have a clue as to who all has been evaluating the Romanek evidence. They take a tiny bit of information and try to run to the finish line with it. That is not objective investigation. And that is why Stan would never allow them to investigate his case. The "Alien in the window" video is not being withheld. It is being formatted for professional distribution to the public. So what if the Romanek's receive a little compensation for allowing it to be distributed professionally? You think they have the resources to provide it to the public in a professional format? Anyone who thinks that is sorely wrong about that. Could they simply post it on YouTube? Of course they could, but it will more visible to the mainstream by being released by mainstream, objective media. The majority of the general public is not ready for ET disclosure; that's why they haven't landed on the White House lawn, or in the middle of the Super Bowl halftime. When the majority of humankind is ready, disclosure will be crystal clear. The ET's will know when the time is right. Since meeting Stan and Lisa and having had the opportunity to hang out with them in public and at their home, I have personally experienced so many things - UFO sightings, high strangeness, material things appearing out of thin air in the flash of a light, points of light flying around in the light of day, over 40 Audrey calls, experiences, witnessing implants migrate through Stan's body, only to be dug out in an abduction experience in the middle of the day - these things and more have all happened. All in the 8 months I have known them. Stan's experiences are real. It is truly amazing and enlightening. Keep up the good work Stan and Lisa!

First I want to address to you that if you want to beleive in Stan's case then do your own research, do not listen to comments on the web, there is a lot of incorrect information out there right now, and most of itwas put out there in hopes of stopping the truth. Have you ever been to one of Stan's talk? Have you ever talked to either of us? I guess my question is this, if you have not been to a talk or spoken with us how do you know Stan's information is BS?
Now as far as Paranexus, they did not say we were full of BS, we had a disagreement with Doug, but not with he rest of the group. Most of them have become very dear friends of ours.The disagreement with Doug was because Stan had posted a video on his website, Doug did not get to approve of it before Stan posted it. Well I don't know about anyone else but I was not under the impression that Doug from Paranexus was in charge of anything regarding this case, other than the investigation they did here at my home for 2-3 days and only the evidence they collected at that time, which was amazing stuff by the way.So your comment that Paranexus thinks we are full of BS is BS...
Another thing.....we have never been in this for the money, and again listening to what other people are saying does not make it true. Attend a talk, meet our friends, talk to them, and they will tell you, We have never been nor will we ever be in it for the money!!!

It is Stan's mission, for the good of all of us to tell the TRUTH even if some people do not want to hear it. Either way it is getting out to them, some of them choose to help positivly others do not, it all ends up in the concious minds of all who hear it anyway,and hopefully they will ask the question "could it all be real, or say I want to beleive",that means the truth is getting out and more and moe people are questioning what hey hear. It is working and that is all that matters to any of us.
