On May 13, The Orion Project announced in an update that it had been targeted by death threats, illegal wire tapping, and other kinds of sinister intimidation. The specific targets were top level scientists working on advanced clean energy technologies with The Orion Project during the last few weeks. Even "a past Director of the Central Intelligence Agency" was revealed as a source for part of the intimidation effort. All this coincided with underestimated amounts of contaminating oil flooding the Gulf of Mexico for several weeks, causing the world's biggest oil disaster in history.
The Orion Project is under the direction of Dr. Steven Greer who was already familiar with death threats and other forms of harrassment. Previous and ongoing threats to Greer resulted from attempts to destroy his long time and continuing effort to disclose the truth that extraterrestrial "UFOs" and intelligent beings have been visiting our planet for decades or longer. In May 2001, Greer's Disclosure Project held an historic press conference on this issue at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
The press conference was organized to also expose the UFO cover-up by governments around the world that has been in place for over 60 years. Speakers at the press conference included twenty whistle-blowers who had worked in top secret projects within the U.S. Government or for government contractors. They all presented startling testimony to support claims of an ET presence and offered to do the same under oath before Congress.
Even in Colorado, a clean energy developer, hearing about the update by The Orion Project, stated that "Since 08, we have gotten numerous threats...". Denver native Stan Romanek has been talking about his close encounters with extraterrestrial craft and intelligent beings for several years. Romanek has a wide range of evidence and corroborating witnesses to support his claims. But he has also received death threats and other kinds of harassment aimed at keeping him quiet. One incident involved him being beaten by military-looking men who jumped out of an unmarked black SUV and broke his nose and a wrist.
The Romanek case was part of the inspiration for the Denver ballot initiative to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission. The initiative will be on the August 10, 2010 election in Denver. No known threats have been made against the initiative proponents so far. But a deceptive propaganda campaign, falsely claiming costs to the city from the proposed commission, has been in effect for two years. The 'cost' claim by opponents of the commission was squashed last week by Denver Budget Director Ed Scholz who confirmed that the activities of the commission would not result in extra costs to the city.
