A couple of interesting Twilight related tidbits popped up this weekend, so to catch up on some of the stories which might've been missed, here's a Twilight news wrap.
First, Rachelle Lefevre ("Victoria" in Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon) did a really interesting interview with Red Carpet Diary's The YouTube Conversation about her work in Barney's Version. She talked about the difficulties of portraying her character as well as the exciting things she got to do in Rome, Italy while filming the movie. You can check it out in full here. Rachelle Lefevre had two films which showed at this year's Toronto Interntaional Film Festival - both Barney's and Casino Jack.
Second, Muse's bassist and keyboardist Chris Wolstenholme had an interview with The Sacramento Bee in which he talked about how Twilight has affected the band, saying "It really helped. I think in this day and age when people don't go out and buy as many records, you use things like that to expose yourself to people who don't know the band. It caused more of a buzz, and more people came out to see us live, and now it is sort of catching up. We are playing in arenas over here, and we are really enjoying it. I think that is what we always wanted but we thought we could never have." You can read the rest here. As you know, Muse has appeared on the albums for Twilight (with "Suppermassive Black Hole"), The Twilight Saga: New Moon (with "I Belong to You"), and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (with "Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever)"). So, it's great to hear that the Saga has made such a positive impact on the group.
Thirdly, a new potential film route for Kristen Stewart was discussed this weekend by sources like HollywoodNews.com, which suggested that "she may be venturing into a film with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer" as "an underage prostitute who inadvertently kills a gang member and then goes on the run." Of course, talks of Stewart's interest may be premature or completely untrue, especially given the similarity between this supposed role and her work as "Mallory" in Welcome To The Rileys, so for now it's just a rumor.
Michael Sheen ("Aro" in The Twilight Saga: New Moon) will be taking on an Easter Passion Play soon, and you can read more about that here. Apparently, Sheen has dedicated January through March to the project, so we better hope the "Volturi" sequences for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 are being filmed somewhere in the November-December range!
Speaking of Breaking Dawn, Nikki Reed ("Rosalie Hale") has spoken up about the issue of partial filming in Brazil, saying "They are filming a few days [in South America], but I’m not there . . . It’s Bella and Edward’s honeymoon." Back in August, when the issue of potential filming in Brazil reached a head, Summit Entertainment's rep reached out to Twilight Lexicon with a statement as follows: "The possibility of filming portions of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN in Brazil has always been under consideration and we are continuing to scout locations within the country." Seems things must've worked out after all! Meanwhile, Reed also did a co-interview with the TwilightMOMs about working on the music video they made together.
Meanwhile, Bronson Pelletier ("Jared") spoke up about Breaking Dawn as well, revealing that he had just signed his paperwork to solidify his involvement with the films. You can check that out here.
Finally, "Edward Cullen" was determined to be the most profitable film character of all time by licensing professionals in preparation for the Brand Licensing Europe 2010 event, and you can read about that here.
As October nears, pre-production for Breaking Dawn continues, so Twilight news is sure to pick up. In the meantime, that's the latest!
