Tonight, Twilight and its cast members received several awards at the 2010 People's Choice Awards.
Twilight was nominated for "Favorite Movie," "Favorite Franchise," and "Favorite On-Screen Team," and the film won all three.
Cast members Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner were also nominated in several award categories.
Taylor Lautner won in his (for "Breakout Movie Actor") over Chris Pine (Star Trek), Zachary Quinto (Star Trek), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days Of Summer), and Sam Worthington (Avatar, Terminator Salvation, and Clash Of The Titans).
Robert Pattinson was nominated in the category for "Favorite Movie Actor" alongside heavy-hitters like Brad Pitt (Inglourious Basterds, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, and Burn After Reading), Hugh Jackman (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Ryan Reynolds (The Proposal, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), and, the winner, Johnny Depp (Alice In Wonderland, Public Enemies). It was announced that Depp received the most votes of anyone over the past ten years, making him the "People's Choice of the Decade." Depp gave a very thoughtful acceptance speech for the win, saying "thank you for bestowing upon me all your great treasures." The award presenter for the category, Sacha Baron Cohen (Bruno, Borat), referred to Depp as "the greatest character actor of his generation." So, needless to say, the Twitterverse was very humble at Pattinson's loss, acknowledging Johnny Depp's rightful assumption of the award.
Kristen Stewart, too, was nominated for the category "Favorite Movie Actress" alongside Anne Hathaway (Alice In Wonderland, Bride Wars), Drew Barrymore (He's Just Not That Into You), Jennifer Aniston (Marley & Me), and, the winner, Sandra Bullock (The Proposal, The Blind Side). Bullock, who's recently made history with her work on The Blind Side, was similarly received by Twilight fans for her win.
Also notable this evening was Queen Latifah (the People's Choice Awards hostess)'s inclusion of the vampire genre (and, specifically New Moon) in her opening number, Kellan Lutz's presentation of the award for "Country Artist" (alongside Melrose Place star Katie Cassidy with Carrie Underwood receiving), Queen Latifah's very public and sudden address of Taylor Lautner from the aisleway (where she then took a picture with him, Nicole Kidman, and Keith Urban), and Latifah's hysterical New Moon skit where she begs Edward Cullen to come to the show (but, using his "break up" scene words from The Twilight Saga: New Moon, he refuses).
Note also that Paramore (from the Twilight soundtrack) won for "Favorite Rock Band" over Muse (from the New Moon soundtrack). Also, Anna Kendrick was nominated for the category "Breakout Movie Actress" but lost to Miley Cyrus.

I don't understand!! Why didn't they show Twilight get their awards? How do you not show Favorite Movie??? Or Favorite on screen team?? Or Favorite Franchise?? Twilight is the only reason i watched that stupid show!! I won't bother next year!
I'm mad they couldn't even show favorite movie ? Not going to waste my time on this show again !

I'm with everyone else, I only watched the show so I could see Twilight win. Favorite Movie of the "PEOPLE" doesn't even get on the show. I'll not watch again
I question the decisions, too. When were the other awards presented?
I thought it was strange that when Hugh Laurie won for best TV drama actor he invited others up to receive his award. Then he brought to the viewing public's attention that "House" received favorite Drama it made sense.
"thinkaboutit" has a reasonable thought that the significant people weren't in the audience to receive the award, but then neither were the people from "Vampire Diaries" (Favorite New Drama). There award was excepted by the presenter.
Questions, many questions.

The only reason I watched was to see what Twi would win. I am sure not to watch again. There plenty of cast menbers in attendance to receive the awards.
All of Twi fans should have noticed the the saga is being dissed and or ignored in all Media.
In general industry is trying writing the saga off as tween crap. I for one am 53 and all my friends are fans of the books the movies are incomplete as far as the books are concerned but they are fantastic putting faces on the characters and bringing the story to life.
I can't believe Paramore won over MUSE. Ugh. And in previous interviews Paramore has said they turned down being on the New Moon soundtrack because they didn't want to be the "vampire band"... now they're downplaying that quote and decision.
Don't complain if you didn't vote. It is the Peoples Choice Awards because there are several ways for us people to vote: online, text, and calling in, over several months. So it does accurately depict who (the people who voted) voted for whom.
I may get my butt kicked, but I would have been shocked if Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would have won over long-time, amazing actors just as Pitt, Depp, and Sandra Bullock. Yes, I LOVE Twilight. Love it. But, in MY opinion, Sandra Bullock is a much better actress than Stewart. SB's work in "The Blind Side" is her best work yet.
Twilight won a lot of awards. Instead of complaining, we should be happy and congratulate for what Twilight did win.
Kellan Lutz and Taylor Lautner were super cute looking. I didn't watch a lot of the show, but I did see the "New Moon" spoof and saw some presenter run down and make Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner take a pic with her. Talk about awkward!

I am 50 and I love both the books and the film, both my girls aged 20 and 25 and there friends are total Twilight fans too.
