'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Summit Ent., L.L.C.
Having already broken down some of the best song placements in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse as well as what scenes one might hope for in an Eclipse DVD deleted/extended scene feature, here's a chance to move on to a list of some of the best small details included in the film.
Again, if you haven't seen the movie yet, this might spoil some of the fun for you, so it may be best to hold off on reading it just yet.
1. The graduation party: The way that the film brought forth the Cullens' graduation party was almost exactly as it was described in Eclipse - the bubbly mood of the room, the music, the dancing. The setting for this scene was very nicely and faithfully done. Also, the fact that Jacob shows up with the wolf bracelet - which has become an iconic piece of merchandise in the Twilight fan world since the book's release - during this scene is an important detail that wasn't overlooked.
2. Team Switzerland: While the swishing of stubborn magnets around on the refrigerator might not have made it into the film, "I'm Switzerland" sure did. It's a good thing, too, because the term has become a "Team" representation in and of itself, so there'd be a lot of disappointed "Team Switzerland" fans if the term didn't make the cut.
3. Jacob's note: It was a rather nice surprise to see Jacob's note make an appearance in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. It even looked the same as it did in the book, with the scratch-throughs and ink blots next to the very same words. This was a very eloquent touch - especially since that's the first thing we see of Jacob's frustration in the story.
4. "I punched a werewolf in the face": This line speaks for itself.
5. "Claire de Lune": As a bit of a throwback to Twilight and the feeling of when Edward and Bella made their first entrance into the Cullen house together, Debussy's "Claire de Lune" is playing in the background. This added a sweet nostalgia to the moment and helped to lead into an even sweeter sequence ahead.
6. Leg hitch: Yes, yes. The leg hitch made it into the movie. That was something a lot of people were extremely vehement about, and there was no let-down on that front. This may not even qualify as a "small detail" given the importance of it to fans.
7. Apple: David Slade admitted to changing a few things about the sets in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, but one thing that he didn't fail to bring back in from The Twilight Saga: New Moon was the apple in Charlie's kitchen window. It was a nice sliver of continuity.
8. "He moves, you move": The exchange between Renee and Bella was incredibly important to the story in Eclipse, and Renee's observations about Bella and Edward here were put well enough in the book. So, it was nice to see the book phrase make it to the film in this moment.
9. "Bulletproof": This is another quote from the book that was well placed in the film. It was contemporary and humorous enough for the ending moment in the film, and it was a lovely touch that this was how Bella closed out the engagement conversation with Edward.
10. Rosalie's theatrics: The Rosalie backstory was, altogether, spectacular in the film. Still, a shining bit of it came in the span of a split-second when the red-eyed Rosalie breaks into Royce's room in her wedding gown. "Theatrical?" Yes, but appropriately so!

Alice's yellow porche was there in the scene when she talks to Charlie and secures Bella's "alibi" for the weekend of the fight. There isn't any discussion about Edward buying it for her or anything, but it's there which I thought was a nice touch!
Much agreed with all your details! I really thought it was so great that Jacob's note was even in it! What a nice surprise! Oh and Clair de Lune was a major "awww" moment for both myself and my friend I was with. How cool was that?? They just didn't miss a detail. So well done!
I loved that they kept the little note between Bella and Jacob at the beginning! It was exactly like the book and I loved it.
My friend noticed the scare on her arm from New Moon in addition to the bite mark from Twilight.
The school friends watching Edward and Jacob's exchange in the background would have been better if they had included Mike's comments.
The tent scene when Jacob says the everyone knows he's hotter. Loved it!
I agree with all of yours, but I would have to add the "I'm a virgin" scene....IT WAS FABULOUS!!! Even better than the book!!!
I was missing Bella's bracelets from the previous movies but then I realized that with the scar and the new charm bracelet that perhaps it was better so that they would stand out more.
I was not in love with New Moon, but the details in Eclipse made it incredible! The second kiss between Bella and Jacob was right out of the book - in fact, all the scenes at the campsite were awesome!
Bella petting Jacob the wolf. Awwww moment.
Another nice touch was the changing eye colors for the Cullens. Nice attention to detail. And on that note good night Amanda and all.
Bella and Charlie having The Talk. Just as awkward as I always imagined it to be when I read it. Done perfectly!
yea, the leg hitch made the cut, but not in the same way of the book. leg hitch was more the first time she gets kidnapped and he take her to the bed. Also I really wanted the quote " is hard and cold and throws color in the light" to represent Edward. in the movie they really dropped it on that one :((((((
and yes while I agree with all of you on all the scenes. for the most part yes they were kept real, but I have to say the tent scene did not end the way in the book. I was really looking forward seeing Jacob wake up on the cold floor.
I loved it...but I think they still missed alot. I didn't like the way they merged the two motorcycle scenes at the school into one scene. I loved Edward in it..wish the leg hitch scene went longer...and that Edward counted down his top ten nights...and Jacob was supposed to be in wolf form still when he heard that...some scenes were spot on..but can't help but feel a little disappointed for the way some were done
I loved Eclipse. And I agree about the eye color changes, those were great. The Cullens look much creepier with the black eyes. They were actually intimidating and badass in this one.
Im holding my vote until I see the movie 2 more times. But I will say that I wish Edward and Bella had more intimacy as it was in the books. They kissed a lot in books. There is so much that I could add but I really wanted to see the first night Bella was kidnapped and she awoke in the bed. We got the leg hitch but still the entire scene would have been awesome. Also I really wanted to see Edward turn the tables on Bella in the meadow at the end. To see him try to persuade Bella to forget there marriage plans.Swoon! Maybe the Honeymoon will leave us speechless.
when billy black was telling the legends he was holding the pouch tied around his neck. while he didn't say anything about it was a perfect little detail that anyone who read the book knew exactly it had the ashes of the cold one from the legend.
The call to Tanya's family up north to help fight with the wolfs! That would have been perfect when they are at the party and all talking about what to do. You call for back up! thats what ya do. but sadly it didnt make the movie
Thank you all for describing the little hidden treasures. I am going to see the movie next week, so I will be watching for all of these and more.
I'm sorry, I really have read each book twice, and I stayed up all night when BD came out... But what the heck is the leg hitch scene! I don't remember that at all! It's making me really frustrated b/c everyone else know what it is... -pouts- The Virgin scene was so great, the "after all I am hotter than you" was FANTASTIC. The movie was so greeeat :]
Julie - the leg hitch scene is in chapter 8. Temper where Edward has had Alice keep Bella under house arrest & he returns from his hunting trip to find her sleepin on the couch... but in the film it was compiled into the scene taken from chapter 20. Compromise - where Bella & Edward are on his bed & she is trying to convince him to sleep with her & he proposes for real & she accepts. I guess people get so excited about it because its as steamy as it gets in these novels but at least you get those glimmers of real passion! And of course because its Edward who instigates it!
My fave touch I think was the 'sex talk' it was hilarious! Not my fave scene of the film, but a great detail from the book coz when I read it I felt Bella & Charlies embarrasment & the actors portray that great on screen! Its laugh out loud funny too! :D
Ooo and also the "You know I love you" "You know how much I wish it were enough" exchange between Bella & Jake in his room at the end... that was really bittersweet. I wish that scene had been fleshed out just a wee bit more... maybe a couple more lines wudda done it - just to convey Bella's heartbreak coz as much as I loved the movie I didn't think Bella really seemed that cut up about the love triangle conclusion... maybe I need to watch it again though!
I'm just dissapointed they didn't put 'The clouds I can handle. But I can't fight with an eclipse.' Everything else is just astonishing.
