A couple of weeks ago, a rumor popped up online that Lee Pace was in contention for a role as "Garrett" in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, but within a day, that rumor was shot down by Gossip Cop. You can read more on that here if you like, but the point of bringing it up now is that another, very similar issue has just popped up with regard to "Renesmee."
Celebuzz caught onto a Facebook post that Model Management Group USA & Canada made with this photo of a young actress by the name of Kayla D.
Here's what the photo caption says: "Attached is a photo of Kayla and Daniel D. ... Kayla is the little girl up for the role of Bella's daughter in the new film in the Twilight Sage: Breaking Dawn. Kayla is pictured with her adorable brother Daniel who has already had two castings since signing with us this month! Daniel will be submitting a video audition for another role in the Twilight film! Good Luck guys!!!!"
In other words, the suggestion is that Kayla is currently in contention for the role of "Renesmee," not that she has officially been cast for the part.
When the Lee Pace story came around, there was no confirmation or rejection available from the studio, and since this is a similar circumstance, the same is probably true. Also, since the post seems to come from Kayla's representation, there might not be a statement negating the issue offered up to sources like Gossip Cop (though that remains to be seen).
For now, then, nothing's official one way or the other. Still, if little Kayla is up for the role of "Renesmee" in one of her various fast-growth stages, what do you think of her for the part?

I think Renesmee should look just a little like Rob and Kristen or it ruins the effect that she looks like them as described in the book so, if she is hired (doubt it), they will need to do some makeup magic which I'm sure would be amazing :)

ALSO (in addition to previous post) it says she's 6, and the casting call was for children older than her, even.
She's a beautiful little girl, but is too old now for the part. Can't imagine come next year she'll probably look even older. Keep looking!

Geez, guys keep your shorts on! Doesn't filming begin this fall and I remember reading they were shooting both part 1 and part 2 together so it's not like she's going to age that much between now and then. If she's only 6, she's only 6. Bella says in BD says she doesn't look/act her age and they need a child who can actually take stage direction and can move smoothly without looking like a toddler. I would imagine there will be heavy CGI, especially for when she's first born (and lots of dolls wrapped in blankets).
I know not everyone is up on CGI technique, but there has been a revolution in putting different faces on bodies since Benjamin Button and the next movie out to use this technology heavily is Tron. Believe me, I know someone first hand (not a friend of a friend) who actually did CGI on both of those movies. If you're afraid she's too tall, then think Alice in Wonderland and even earlier with Lord of the Rings. It's all doable!!!
There won't be any crappy experimentation in BD2 so just chill out and enjoy the ride.

I think she would make a great Renesmee! She has a beautiful face and she does look similar to both Bella and Edward. And like LilaH said, they can do wonders with CGI, so I think she would be perfect!

I'll bet whomever they cast can be made to look younger with makeup and clothing. That's why they call it acting. But obviously she will not be playing a two-year-old people!!! I think she's super cute and perfect for the role.
Umm, she's really cute, and maybe she could play the older part of Renesmee, but unless Summit is going to be using fifty little girls to play through her extreme growth spurt, I really think Renesmee is just going to be CGI. Just my opinion.
Wow, Kayla really looks the part of Renesmee. The only issue I have is how old she is. Of course, there'll be make up and all types of effects on her and maybe that will work- I'm struggling to believe that she's only 6 in real life. She looks really good for her though, I can see her as an older Renesmee, but I agree with most of the other posts- Renesmee only reaches looking about 3 years old in the book.. not a 6 year old who looks like she could easily be older than 10.

I think the child would be great....and of course the CGI.....in that photo of her it looks like she is wearing makeup to look older.....
I think it's just a marketing ploy. Instead of saying she's auditioning for Renesmee, they say she's "up for the role" so you'll sign with thier agency. I think Tom Cruise and Katy Holmes daughter should audition, I think she looks like a combination of Rob and Kristen and she's very intellegent.

I'm in agreement with most people on here and I think she looks too old, I'm struggling to beleive she is 6 in real life...??? I would have said 9-10 at the very youngest. She is a very pretty little girl though but I just hope they cast someone younger. There are 5 year old acctress's out there who would be able to take direction etc, I mean look Dakota Fanning didn't she start acting when she was 5? and the little girl in the Cosby show, I'm sure she was only 4-5. And anything she cant do i'm sure they can do with special effects, CGI.
In the book Bella said to put that her daughter was 5 on her passport so it might work but im not sure. She's really pretty though.

I think she looks like Renesmee. I think she will do a good job, she looks like the part and she looks like the age. I also think Suri Curise will do good also. But I also agree that they will have different actresses to play the different roles of Renesmee. I think it will turn out good. They've a done good job with all the other actors, so I believe they will do the same with Renesmee. They want to make it perfect because she is a big role. I believe they will pick a good actress to play Renesmee. :)
