'Breaking Dawn' by Stephenie Meyer - Little, Brown Books
First of all, several cast members from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 have been revealed, but announcements have been limited to those actors and actresses who are returning from Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
So, no new castmembers from the film have been announced just yet.
However, a rumored potential addition to the cast has been unveiled by E! Online, and while the site admits that no official decision has been made on the subject just yet, it is interesting to see who's in the rumor mill for one of my favorite new Breaking Dawn characters.
According to E! Online, Lee Pace is in contention for the role of "Garrett." This is not confirmed, of course, but we have seen early speculation reports turn into reality along the way of these films being made (with Xavier Samuel, Bronson Pelletier, etc.), so it's not entirely impossible either (still, note that it isn't an official casting announcement until Summit Entertainment confirms that sort of information).
As you know, "Garrett" is one of the nomad vampires that joins the "Cullen" coven's side for the "Volturi" showdown, and his character is one that brings a little light-heartedness to an otherwise heavy situation.
Over a year ago, the idea of Ryan Reynolds picking up the post was discussed, and since then, a few other casting ideas have been thrown around.
Attending the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse in Los Angeles were a few other potentials, one might suggest. Celebrities like Ethan Embry and Tia and Tamara Mowry walked the red carpet for the premiere, and they could easily be considered in contention for some of the spots (Embry for "Garrett" or the Mowry sisters for "Zafrina" and "Senna," perhaps). There's always Jennifer Love Hewitt, too, for a part like "Irina."
At any rate, Lee Pace is an actor best known for his work in Pushing Daisies, The Good Shepard, and A Single Man. You can find out more about him here. Think he looks the part?
Side note: It's hard to believe we're already at the point of casting discussions for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn(s), but if schedules have been accurate so far, filming for the movies will begin in just a few short months. Where has the time gone?
UPDATE: Gossip Cop has reported that Lee Pace has not been approached for the role yet. As stated before, nothing's official until deals close, but it's still fun to speculate!

honesty, i kind of like that summit doesnt cast stars that are well known and while the mowry sisters, jennifer love hewitt, ryan phillipe may not be megastars they're still well-known. i like the way they've cast relatively unknown actors and catapulted them into the spotlight. so stick with the smaller names summit, pleaseeee!?
I agree 100%, I think that they should keep on casting unknown actors for the roles of the new vampires. This franchise is now known for bringing fresh faces, new talents to our attention and giving them all a chance to prove themselves. Plus, when you see an already established actor you tend to think back to the other roles you might have seen them play which I think is distracting and sometimes makes their performance less believable especially for this particular saga.
I wonder if the Williams sisters can act - they would be great. Better than Tia and Tamera - they don't look anything like I imagined the Amazons to look. Embry Ethan - no good for Garrett - he is too well known and not as rugged - a little too goofy. I do like the idea of Jen Love Hew for Irina - she has proven to be a versitile enough actor (ie not typecast in a specific role) I am just dying to see who they get for Nessie - my daughter would be great but I think being that we live in Australia it might be a bit hard to get her to an audition. DOH!!!
The big question although is who will play Renesmee???!!!
I kinda pictured Rhys Ifans as I read Breaking Dawn. Granted, he's not considered a "beautiful young actor", but I think he fits the character.
JLH for Irina? No way!!! Irina was tall, strikingly beautiful and strawberry blond. JLH is boring, homely and a made for TV type actress. Summit made a huge mistake replacing Rachel with Bryce. They can't continue to miscast for Breaking Dawn. The true fans want to see actors/actresses who actually resemble the characters as written in the book. Not younger talent who want to jump on the Twilight Saga bandwagon to try and boost their career. Ryan Reynolds is excellent, but not for Garrett. Tia and Tamara?? Who are they? Total random talent.
Lee's not what I really pictured, but I can scrunch my mind to see it. Besides, any actor from Spring is great in my book. :)
Here's my ideal actors:
Zoe Saldona (from Avatar) as Zafrina.
Annalyne McCord (from 90210) as Tanya.
Angelina Jolie (from everything) as Kate.
Chase Crawford (from Gossip Girl) as Garrett.
And a really cute kid (or CGI) for Renesmee.
I am sorry i do love Ryan Reynolds but i don't think he would make a good vampire at all !!!! Just my opinion : )
Blue...u r good i agree Annalyne McCord (from 90210) as Tanya. is a great idea she fits the character very well, and the Chance for Garrett is not a bad idea either : )
I pictured garret as kevin mckidd the whole time I was reading. I adore lee pace, but i can't see him in that role at all.
I've just always seen Ryan Reynolds playing Garrett. The role is perfect for him. The playful, goofiness of Garrett is so like most of the roles that Ryan takes on. When Garrett makes the long sarcastic speech to the volturi...it was so Ryan-style...LOL!
no way angelina jolie.she is a g8 actor but i don't think she would fit the part for KATE, no offense
I agree with aman.... no way anglina jolie for Kate or any part of Breaking Dawn! She may be a good actress but she is no vampire. I don't know much about Pace or Crawford but either one of them or Ryan with the looks could pull off Garrett. The question is who fits the personality part of Garrett the best? As for Nessie...probably going to have to go with CGI. Her character will be very interesting to see on film. I can't wait to hear who summits casts in Breaking Dawn then to have to wait a year to see it! Ugh...the waiting!
Lee Pace would be awesome!!! He was amazing in The Fall.

I agree with your picks for Zafrina & Tanya, especially Tanya! She'd be great! But the last two not so much. Especially Angelina! I like her and all but please don't let her anywhere near these movies!!!

I always pictured Ville Valo-the lead singer from HIM- as Garrett. He has that other worldly beauty to him! Perfect Garrett in my mind. If not him then my second choice would be Josh Hartnett.
I honestly think that they're going to stick with people who are a little less known in Hollywood. They aren't going to steal anyone's thunder by putting a big name into the last installment. I'm happy with Lee Pace, he's known; but he's not going to steal the thunder from the other actors that have been there from the first movie.
It's like them putting Dakota Fanning in New Moon. Yeah, everyone knows her; but there was a good balance and she didn't steal her scenes. Everyone knows she's an amazing actress, but we all got to see a different side of her.
If they want to add big names into BD, then they are going to have to make sure that they don't steal the scene from the others, that's my main opinion & concern. Could you imagine them putting Angelina in it & her "stealing" the movie;; how depressed would you be after working on 4 films just to have it shadowed by a bigger name.
I don't think Lee would make a good Garrett. I always pictured someone like Josh Holloway or Hugh Jackman as a Garrett. All man.
Having just watched both seasons of Pushing Daisies Lee Pace would be awesome as Garrett!
Renesmee will be CGI for the simple fact that she is supposed to age fairly quickly and it would be very difficult to do that with a person.
Angelina Jolie should stay the heck away from Twilight. As for the Amazonian women, they could use Zoe Saldona and Rosario Dawson.
Kate should be played by someone who isnt to tall but sort of average in height but still beautiful...Katherine Mcphee! Oh YEah! PEGGY HILL
No big name celebs, might take away from the main characters/actors. I agree with Brittany. New actors or actress who needs a little boost in their acting careers.
CGI for Renesme? Now why in the heck would they shoot themselves in the foot even more than they have? If they're smart, they'll pick three different aged children to play the role(s). They already downed Jacob's age, and uped Carlisle and Esme's. Remember in the books it stated they looked like they were in their early 20's? Think people.
I have ALWAYS seen Josh Holloway as Garrett. Yes Garrett is a character with semi-humorous moments, but he is a nomad and shouldn't be too 'pretty' like Lee Pace or Ryan Reynolds. And as much as I don't like her as an actress I think that Jennifer Love Hewitt could LOOK like Kate, but agree that she is too well-known for the movies. As far as the Amazons are concerned, definitely NOT the Mowry twins. Personally I think that they would be ridiculous as the Amazons. I like the girl from 90210 as Tonya, but think she might be a little too young. Tonya is a bit older than what that girl looks like. As much as I agree with keeping the big name actors/actresses out of the cast I think that there are a few that wouldn't over-power it as in: Charlize Theron or Gwyneth Paltrow as Tanya. They are a little bit older and hold the aire of confidence and poise that I think Tanya possesses.
