The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 reached a half billion dollars in worldwide ticket sales this week - $508,357,778 to be exact.
The film has done well domestically too, having already brought in $223,357,778 on the domestic market after two weeks atop the box office. No doubt, there's some interest in whether it'll reach the domestic Twilight Saga high set by The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which was a little more than $300 million.
Breaking Dawn - Part 1's worldwide gross, meanwhile, puts it on track to match what The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Eclipse did worldwide, which was $709,827,462 and $698,491,347 respectively.
It only took twelve days for Breaking Dawn - Part 1 to reach the half billion mark.
New Moon hit the same number after about two weeks in theaters, but Eclipse neared the mark in around the same time as Breaking Dawn.
Also of note: Reportedly, the studio aimed for $611 million on Breaking Dawn - Part 1, and it looks like they'll easily hit that.
