The fact that production for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 is taking place partially in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is making big waves in the community.
A local news source did some poking around to find out details about production plans for the films, and they learned that the scenes being shot in Louisiana will indeed be indoors and that it is being considered very beneficial to the local economy.
"What you'll see is much like what 'Steel Magnolias' did for Natchitoches . . . People go to Natchitoches to this day to see the house in 'Steel Magnolias,'" reports WBRZ. Given the fact that Twilight fans are famed for traveling to Forks, La Push, Portland, Vancouver, and even to Italy to see the Twilight sights, this is probably at least a little true.
Specific details were, of course, unavailable, but the station's news clip shows a bit of what's being said around town about the production.

Yeah... People go to Vancouver and Portland to see the places where Twilight was filmed. People go to Forks and La Push to see where the books take place. Bonus points that these locations are also beautiful.
People go to see the Steel Magnolia house because... there's a house to see.
I don't think Baton Rouge is going to see quite the economic boom as the other cities. There's nothing to do in Baton Rouge and people aren't going to go see a studio (unless the studio keeps the sets and offers tours - but I asked Celtic Studios if they did tours and they said no).
People might go to New Orleans... and do a quick day trip to Baton Rouge... but if there's nothing interesting and tangible for fans to see... what's the point?

I agree with the poster above here..if they film all indoor scenes in a studio this won't cause ppl to come by to "visit" a Twilight related set. If they use other buildings of course for indoor scenes then that may help some. But to just come by to see "this is where they shot the indoor Breaking Dawn scenes" outside a gated area for the studios, Nah not gonna happen. I sure wouldn't bother. I'd visit the area for other reasons then :-).
