Matt Cohen wants to return to 'Supernatural' as a demon

Matt Cohen just wrapped a guest stint on NCIS: Los Angeles opposite Todd Smith (aka LL Cool J) and Chris O'Donnell (more on that as it gets closer to air!) but he is about to get back into the Supernatural mindset once again. After appearing at his first ever Creation Entertainment fan convention just a few weeks ago out in Parsippany New Jersey, Cohen is prepping to head up to Vancouver for another experience. But will he be resuming his role as Young John Winchester while he's up there?

Cohen told Examiner that he hasn't heard the official word on whether or not he will return for season six of the demon-hunting family drama. "But then again, last time I only heard about a month before I was to shoot the episode that I would be coming back," he shared during an interview in Los Angeles.

Fair enough, but just how would he want to return...you know, if Sera Gamble needed a guest writer for a script, for example? Cohen, who actually has stepped behind the camera to produce an independent film called The Outside, had a very specific wish for that. "I'd love to play a demon. I think it would be really cool to see Young John either in the past or even Young John in the future as a demon."

Cohen says this is mostly because he is interested in "exploring darker characters." He has been pretty blessed to receive great genre scripts at the time he was looking for such work, but he admits that often he feels pushed to go the romantic comedy route. "I want to play characters with, like, split personalities," he explained. "To really go into a side that is so different from myself. It's a challenge, but that's the fun of acting."

One thing's for sure: Cohen could definitely pull off the yellow eyes!

Check out Cohen's turn as producer with The Outside, which is available at Blockbuster, Netflix, Amazon and pretty much wherever DVDs are available. And be sure to tune into Supernatural at its all new time of Fridays at 9pm starting September 24th to see if Cohen will be back.

And if you want to meet him at any other Creation Entertainment conventions, be sure to email in and request him. Cohen told Examiner that everything he does is for the fans-- "without them, none of us would have jobs!" he cited-- so he will literally go anywhere he is wanted. Examiner certainly hopes to run into him at the Los Angeles "Salute to Supernatural" 2011 con!
