As has been the case for the past two seasons here at the page, I will be taking an in-depth look at each "Survivor: Nicaragua" contestant leading up to the season premiere on September 15. Check back every weekday for a new update.

Name: Brenda Lowe

Age: 27

Tribe: La Flor

Occupation: Paddleboat company owner

Residence: Miami, Florida

Strengths: Brenda seems to be a fairly positive person, and she also knows her personality very well. She speaks in her interview about having both a "good" and "bad" side, and being self-aware is a major part of going far in this game. though the challenges this season aren't guaranteed to be as physical due to the age twist, she is a physical competitor that could be among the tougher ladies to beat this season.

Weakness: Let's face it -- Brenda does not come across as someone who is a student of this game. She also seems to be a little bit weirded out by the nature element so far, which could have some far-reaching effects in terms of morale in the game. One other problem in her interview? She talks about being a Miami Dolphins cheerleader -- which is all well and good -- but says she really enjoyed being a semi-celebrity more than anything. If being famous is more important than the love of the game, you could very well have a new Sydney Wheeler on our hands.

Past 'Survivor' Comparison: As far as physical female competitors go, Brenda could be a mix of Danni Boatwright and Stacy from "Fiji." However, I'm not sure she is as into the game as either one of them. Therefore, you also has to throw out there Michelle Chase, Marisa Calihan, or even Dolly Neely -- all of them looked to be good female competitors on the surface, but for some reason or another they couldn't make it in the game.

Early prediction: Brenda could have some success in this game -- at least enough to be a jury player -- but I'm still not seeing the fight for "Survivor" yet. I perfectly encourage her to prove me wrong, but right now there are just too makings here of someone who will go on strong, get themselves buried fast for trying too hard, and end up out of the game three episodes in. Brenda will be one of the earlier boots from La Flor this season.
