Justin Bieber is one of those celebrities that you either love or loathe. While most people old enough to drive seem to find the You Tube star turned pop singer Bieber to be annoying, his huge base of younger fans has made him a star.
Which might be why his newest rumored project might be taking on the Michael J. Fox role in a new reboot of the "Back To The Future" movie franchise.
Several British tabloids are reporting that Bieber is being considered for the starring role in the remake, assuming that "he is capable of acting at that level." When Fox took on the original role, he had a hit TV series ("Family Ties") and several hit movies under his belt.
Bieber is younger than Fox was when he starred in the first "Future" movie, and if took the role it would be written to reflect his younger age. "The most important part of the film is the time travel aspects," said one unnamed film executive. "In fact, some of the plot works better with a younger character."
The biggest problem with the idea might be that the three "Future" films are well-made and fondly remembered by audiences. Even if the remake does make it to the screen, odds are that it will face the same box-office fate as the recent remake of "The Karate Kid."

Lord save us all! Back to the Future is an amazing, classic movie. You can't put that dweeb in there. He'll butcher it. Today's era does nothing but kill 80's classics. At first I thought it was subject to music. I mean, Flo Rida absolutley destroyed Dead or Alive's "Right Round" and I didn't even KNOW someone could make a remake as horrible as DJ Sammy did to Bryan Adam's "Heaven." What's the point of taking a deep love ballad and turning it into an emotionaly drained upbeat pop song? Leave the classics alone, people. You can't make them better. Instead you drive people away from them by making the World's Next Crappiest Attempted Remake.
I'm seriously hoping this whole Back to the Future remake is just a rumor. Especially the part about Justin Beiber. If it's not, maybe the world really will end by 2012. Or, at least all of the media that's worth anything at all will be gone...It's already heading downhill at a pretty steep incline anyway.

With all the outcry they'll get from this news, it more than likely won't happen. But these days, who knows? Bottom line though, this CAN'T happen! Truthfully, this is one of those franchises that doesn't need to be remade. What's next, Wizard of Oz, Gone With the Wind, Casablanca? (any Oz movie since Wizard doesn't count to me as a remake [they were more reimaginings if anything], which is why it's included with the others I named)
