This year’s Grammys will include a first-of-its kind 3-D tribute to Michael Jackson, plus a touching fundraising segment to benefit the earthquake victims in Haiti.
Huge entertainment names like Usher, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson and Smokey Robinson are all taking part in touching tribute to Michael Jackson. The tribute will feature Jackson’s “Earth Song" from “This Is It” and the performers were personally picked for their association with the King of Pop. Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion and Jennifer Husdon were favorite performers of Jackson. Smokey Robinson was his mentor, and Usher was his friend. People.com confirms that Michael Jackson’s children will accept a Lifetime Achievement Award following the tribute. Paris and Prince Michael are scheduled to speak, and accept the award on their father’s behalf.
Another important segment during this year’s Grammy Awards is a special duet by Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli. The dynamic duo will sing “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” The duet will be available on iTunes.com/Target beginning on February 1st, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross for relief efforts in Haiti.
The Grammy Awards airs live on Sunday, January 31st at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
Editor’s Note: You can pick up a free pair of 3-D glasses in the electronics department at any Target store.
