The sun was shining over chilly Bloomington, MN yesterday at the Aflac Iron Girl Duathlon. Around 1,400 women were pre-registered, but only around 1000 finished - the cool morning maybe kept some people away. The race consisted of a 2 mile run, a 22 mile bike, and a 2 mile run.
Jenny Wilcox walked away with another win, with a finishing time of 1:29:21. She was first out of 989 athletes, and it was the cap to Wilcox's amazing year of multisport racing. She beat out Diane Hankee by over 2 minutes. If you remember, Wilcox blew by Hankee in the run 2 months ago at the Chisago Lakes Triathlon where they went first and second as well.
Tina Hjeltman came in third with a time of 1:32:58. Fourth and fifth were Jennifer Scudiero and Suzie Finger in 1:34:23 and 1:34:31.
