Producers say 'The Hunger Games' movie will likely be released in 2012

New information from Color Force, the production company behind Lionsgate's upcoming movie adaptation of The Hunger Games, say the movie will likely be released sometime in 2012.

Initial reports indicated that the movie would likely be released in late 2011 (with production set to begin in January or February of '11) -- but fans later questioned that timeline, after notes on the website IMDB indicated a 2013 release.

Fansite Mockingjay.net contacted Color Force, which had this to say:

This still isn’t set but the movie will likely be released in 2012.

This news means the initial production timeline may also be delayed -- a suggestion further supported by the fact that a director still has not been hired and no one has been cast for the film. (However, recent reports show that Gary Ross is in talks with Lionsgate to direct The Hunger Games movie.)

    1. Besides the fact thats she's way to old, she is also nothing like Katniss and we would get a bunch of nine-year old Twilight fans turning the Hunger Games into our worst nightmare and
    2. Just on another website with the exact same comment on it, connection?

I am so happy that they are turning the Hunger Games into a movie. It's so perfect for a movie too. I cannot wait until the movie comes out!!!!!!!!!!!! It better be good though, cause i don't want to wait forever for a movie that has nothing to do with the book

this is way to good of a book to mess up!!
Listen to the suggestions of the readers for the picking of the cast. No TWILIGHT actors please!!! they already have themselves viewed as a well known character.

I don't know why.... but I just see Austin Butler as Peeta and Luke Wilson as Haymitch... that's the most I would definitely cast so far... Katniss needs to be a new, fresh face out there somewhere!
