
Big Ten players continued to do well as the ITA Summer Circuit is finished and the ITA Summer National Championships get ready to start.
Indiana University's Josh MacTaggart enjoyed the hometown advantage for the singles title over Michigan State’s Denis Bogatov, 7-5,6-1 in the finals. MacTaggart also joined teammate Santiago Gruter to earn second place in the doubles.
During the event at Collin County Community College in Plano, Texas, Illini Marisa Lambropoulos made it to the singles finals and then teamed with Georgia’s Lilly Kimbell to pick up the doubles crown.
Ohio State’s Nelson Vick was the singles and doubles. He defeated fellow Buckeye Wyatt Lippert in the finals before joining another teammate, Peter Kobelt, to win the doubles title.
At the University of Texas-Arlington, Nitooli Wilkins of Minnesota picked up a singles trophy with a win in the finals over Ana Guzman of Rice.
The ITA Summer National Championships begin on Saturday, August 7, at the University of Indiana. Singles and doubles winners from this tournament receive wild cards into the D'Novo Men's and Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships, the first national championships of the 2010-11 season.
