Chupacabra surfaces in northern Texas, according to witnesses (video)
This week, reports of the mythical creature called the Chupacabra surfaced in northern Texas after an animal control officer encountered the unusual beast in a barn.
Chupacabra means ‘goat sucker’ in Spanish and is said to be a cross between a wolf and a dog, which attacks livestock and other animals, “ripping them from limb to limb,” according to the New York Daily News.
On Monday, it was reported that a North Texas rancher called animal control after he found a dog-like animal growling away in his barn. He told WOAI that it was “the ugliest creature he has ever seen.”
Animal Control Officer Frank Hackett arrived on scene and said “All I know is, it wasn’t normal… It was ugly, real ugly. I’m not going to tell no lie on that one.”
Hackett shot the animal and DNA tests are now being conducted on the creature to try and determine exactly what it is.
The Huffington Post reports that sightings of such an animal have been reported in South Florida in 1996 and in Texas in 2008.
