Amy Winehouse is alleged to have bought a half ounce each of crack cocaine and heroin according to a fixer named Tony Azzopardi prior to her death on July 23rd.
Azzopardi claims to have set up the deal for Amy to buy the drugs. "The 56-year-old, who was introduced to the tragic star by her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, claimed he wanted her family to 'know the truth about what happened,'" reported Mail Online August 1st.
The police, however, claimed they found no drug paraphernalia in Amy's house. A bodyguard found her lifeless body at around 4 p.m. on the July 23rd.
The family believes their daughter died from the shock of alcohol withdrawals.
If you know what these withdrawals entail, either from drugs, or alcohol, then you would find that such a person in that state would more than likely make a B-line to the nearest liquor store, or drug dealer to stop the extremely vicious withdrawals, especially if she has the money, and connections to procure the substances.
As far as Azzopardi's motives for coming out with his role in Amy's death, who knows. Making a statement against penal interests tends to be more credible since he could be held responsible for contributing to her death if the laws are similar there as they are in the U.S. The police have talked to Tony, and plan on another little chat.
But Amy could not have used an entire half ounce of heroin and crack cocaine in a matter of hours and not died well before that whole amount was taken, especially the heroin. And not leaving any traces behind of both drugs in her house would seem to be a trick by Houdini if she was trying to use that amount of drugs. The crack cocaine and heroin would have to be so weak you might as well be using sugar.
No, something is fishy about Azzopardi's story.
In any event, we lost a great singer, and person to what seems to be yet another overdose, either unintentional, or intentional. Amy certainly had enough chaos going on in her life that maybe she decided to just end it so the pain would stop. For those around her, as with at least one other celebrity, they tend to look the other way, or do some super-enabling to keep the money flowing, and appease their employer. The consequences of behavior like that can kill, as we have seen. Michael Jackson comes to mind.
Amy's tragic death at that young age should holler to all those thinking about abusing, abusing, or are addicted to drugs.
It is likely that Amy did die from a drug-related death, but that will not be known until the tox report comes back.
Peace...
