Born and raised in New York, Althea Pashman grew up an avid sports fan and realizing that playing professional baseball or hockey didn't include women at the time she turned to teaching physical education and coaching. After ten years she hung the sneakers and whistles on the hook and headed south to Florida where she has lived for the past 23 years. Althea has been covering the Tampa Bay sports scene for the past five years and during this time has covered the Lightning, Rays and Storm for TBSN and for the last year and half has served as the Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Storm Examiner. She has also served as a backup stringer for AP Sports Audio and PA-SportsTicker giving her the opportunity to access the locker room, playing field and do pre and postgame interviews with the players and coaches.
