Mitsubishi Evo pulls truck from ditch

Pulling the 7,000 pound Sierra from the ditch, this 3,000 pound Evo proves it's AWD has a purpose.

Oh no, a GMC Sierra is stuck in the ditch! What ever shall we do? I know, call upon the all-wheel drive technology of a Mitsubishi Evo to save the day. Sure enough, this Evo was able to put enough torque to the ground, gain traction, and set the Sierra free from the ditch. How is this possible? How on earth could such a small vehicle pull such a large truck out of a ditch? Don't get too excited, the truck isn't really stuck that bad. All it needs is a little push to get out of the rut and it will be able to take care of the rest.

The GMC Sierra we see here stuck in the ditch weighs about 7,000 pounds while the Evo weighs about 3,000 pounds. That's a 4,000 pound difference, so the Evo has to pull more than twice it's weight through the slippery grass. Even though the Sierra is barely stuck, I still find this video very interesting. This isn't the first time AWD has saved the day, and it surely won't be the last. Discuss this article with CarDomain.com

More educational Evo propaganda...

This Evo stunt is minuscule compared to watching the Subaru Impreza WRX pull a stuck semi out of the snow! If you had to pick either the Evo or WRX to pull a vehicle, which would you choose? I for one would choose the Subaru. Beyond my biased opinion towards these vehicles, the Subaru possesses a true symmetrical all-wheel drive with front, rear, and center differentials. The Evo doesn't have a symmetrical all-wheel drive system, as it's power is branched off the front wheel drive axle to the rear. This doesn't sound like it makes much of a difference, but when we're talking physics it truly does.
