Top 5 New Year's Resolutions for health & fitness from US Government

1. Drink Less Alcohol – When used in excess over a long period of time, alcohol can damage nearly every organ and system in the body. peripheral nervous system.

3. Lose Weight - A large mid section and obesity can both lead to multiple health issues. Losing weight, especially around the middle, can reduce heart disease, stroke, and other illnesses.

4. Manage Stress - Wikipedia notes that chronic stress “may cause various physical manifestations–eg, asthma, back pain, arrhythmias, fatigue, headaches, HTN, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcers, and suppress the immune system.”

So make 2012 the Year of Healthy Resolutions! Form healthier habits for the New Year by starting today. Eat healthier during the holidays so you can begin the New Year with more success and less fat under your belt. Exercise more now by walking more, taking the stairs more and watching TV or playing video games less. Drink less at parties, or not at all. Smoke less during the holidays so you are already a step closer to quitting for the New Year. Make 2012 your healthiest year yet.

You can do it. I started jogging for the first time in my life in 2011 and I have kept it up during the holidays. Make up your mind and don't let excuses get in your way.
