Here's a unique opportunity for Second Life® residents who love video and film: the University of Western Australia in Second Life's MachinimUWA machinima competition is closing on November 30, and is offering cash prizes totally 20,000 Lindens (the Second Life unit of currency) to Second Life residents who watch the machinimas (videos) entered in the competition. You'll have to act fast, however. The deadline is this Wednesday, November 30, 2011.
It's called an Audience Participation Event. The rules are simple: watch the machinimas and then submit a list of your ten favorites. If your list is among the three that come closest to the picks of the official judges, then you will win a cash prize ranging from 4,000 to 10,000 Lindens. If last year's entries are any indication, there are some magnificent entries just waiting for you to watch.
You can learn more about the competition and get links to all the machinimas in the competition by going to uwainsl.blogspot.com/2011/11/machinimuwa-iv-all-80-entries-winners.html .
After you've watched the machinimas and chosen your favorites, you can submit them either by emailing them to jayjayaustralia@hotmail.com or in Second Life by putting them on a notecard titled "MachinimUWA IV Audience Event" plus your name and dropping them in the inventory slot of the profile of Jayjay Zifanwe. Hurry though. There are only a few days left to watch some great machinimas and maybe win a cash prize for doing it.
