If you've never heard of SMACK Sportswear (OTCBB: SMAK)? Don't worry, you'll see it soon.
The company, known for its team and beach active apparel, plans to launch their 2013 Sand Volleyball Team Apparel line Friday, March 15, 2013. In fact, the entire month of March has been nothing but good news for this penny stock company:
- March 6: The company reports the opening of a flagship store inside the Orange County Sports Complex
- March 7: The company reports a signed a promotional deal with #1 ranked female beach volleyball player in the U.S. Whitney Pavlik. Whitney joins partner Jenny Kropp, a current Smack athlete and bikini spokesperson. They are apparently referred to as "Team Smack."
In January the company got a big break with a debut of their 2013 line of bikinis, boardshorts and casual wear on The Bachelor. The episode featured a group date where twelve bachelorettes battled it out in a game of beach volleyball to win a date with The Bachelor, Sean Lowe.
Stock Price Review
Currently SMAK is trading at 0.1140 0.0040(3.64%). This stock has the potential to be more, but only time will tell. It seems to be a true stock for the summertime investors. In 2011 it held steady at $0.99 a share, dropping in the Fall of 2011 to $0.51. It picked up steam again last year rising to $0.65 a share, dropping again around the $0.30 mark in the Fall season.
SMAK been holding steady this year between $0.08-$0.10 a share, so the jump to $0.11 isn't a head-turner just yet. If SMAK follows its current trend of summertime rises, this could be a stock to get in on the bottom floor and possibly put on your penny stock watchlists.
