Picking up after the theft of the MI6 agent list, Bond is hot on the trail of the thief but things don't go quite as planned. Even worse M's past returns to haunt her, testing Bond's loyalty as MI6 is under attack. Hardly ready for duty, Bond swings back into action doing what he does best.
Daniel Craig (Bond), Judi Dench (M), Javier Bardem (Silva), Ralph Fiennes (Mallory), Naomie Harris (Eve), Berenice Marlohe (Severine), Albert Finney (Kincade), Ben Whishaw (Q), Rory Kinnear (Tanner).
Skyfall begins by jumping right to the action as Bond chases down Patrice who has stolen an MI6 agent list. When things don't go as planned the plot takes a twist and a new antagonist is introduced from M's past who is devoted to her destruction. As Bond tries to understand what is happening he must deal with constant attacks while determining how to protect M and retrieve the agent list. Adding to his challenges is the healing of his still broken body.
Acting was decent with Craig doing a good job once again as James Bond. Dench brought her usual and with a bit more face time in this one, did quite well. Bardem made a good antagonist and presented nicely. It was good to see Fiennes back and he delivered a good show as did Finney, Whishaw, Kinnear and the remainder of the supporting cast.
Camera work, sets, and backgrounds were all well done consistent with the Bond franchise. Physical and CGI effects were good as always though there wasn't much new from that aspect. Dialogue was solid and consistent. Sound and soundtrack were good and of course, the credits introduction was very well done.
Overall Skyfall is a decent entry in the James Bond series but not one of the most exciting or unique, either with plot or from a technical aspect. Fans of the franchise should enjoy this but probably won't feel it is a favorite.
With plenty of violence, action, some sexuality, and foul language this should be fine for teens and above.
Skyfall is no longer showing in any Littleton, Colorado movie theatres.
