While both bands got their start before many of the fans in attendance were born, you wouldn’t guess the rockers’ ages by their performances. Both came out with high energy, amazing special effects, and most importantly, powerful, expertly-performed tunes.

Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee took his craft to another level and performed a drum solo upside down on a 360 vertical drum rollercoaster. The band even went as far as giving one lucky fan a ride on the traveling drum set.

At one point in Mötley Crüe’s set, the storm became so bad that the band was forced to leave the stage for a brief rain delay. Luckily for fans, they were able to return to complete the show.

As Albuquerque fans eagerly waited for KISS to take the stage, the storm raged on. Members of the KISS Army weren’t about to let some rain stop them from seeing their idols, and neither was the band. With a black curtain concealing the stage, the familiar words, “you wanted the best, you got the best!” rang through the arena, bringing fans to their feet. The band made their grand entrance on a flaming platform suspended high above the crowd, which descended down to the stage.

The show was incredible, and fans of all ages witnessed the energetic rock complete with fireballs and lasers shooting from Tommy Thayer’s guitar, blood spewing from Gene Simmons’ mouth, and a zipline transporting Paul Stanley to a platform near the center of the arena. The band performed both old tunes and new, with their most identifiable song, “Rock and Roll All Nite,” as the encore and closing song.
