Susan Holaday is a foodservice journalist whose first job was at what is now Restaurants & Institutions, acquiring a love of restaurants and business journalism. A graduate of Syracuse University (1960), she received a M.A. from the University of Chicago, and later worked as a company editor at Wyman-Gordon Co. (Worcester, MA), as a financial writer at Spear & Staff (Babson Park, MA), and at what was Lodging & Foodservice News in Boston, becoming co-owner with Richard E.
