Padonia Station is host to a sports-bar atmosphere encouraging the sports fan within you as you dine on some of your favorites like wings, sliders, cheese steaks and more. If you happen to go in on a Friday or Saturday night you can enjoy live local bands.
The menu is large and seems to never end but has options that could satisfy anyone’s craving. A nice starter was the Supreme Nachos with crisp tri-colored tortilla chips, diced jalapenos, spring onions, black olives, tomatoes, and shredded lettuce topped with melted Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese sauce; served with a side of salsa and sour cream ($6.99). You can even add chili or grilled chicken for $3.00. We elected to add the chili, which had a decent amount of heat and blended nicely with the melted cheese and other toppings. The size of the nachos was ample and would even make a nice meal for just one person.
If you're craving a crab cake and looking for a good deal then head over to Padonia Station for the Tuesday 1/2 lb crab cake with two sides for $11 (eat in or carry out). You have the choice to have the crab cake broiled or deep-fried. Then you can pick one of the following two sides: Cole Slaw, Side Salad, French Fries Onion Rings, Baked Potato, Apple Sauce, Steamed Broccoli, Mashed Potatoes, Sautéed Vegetables or Cauliflower Mashed.
The crab cake has generous amounts of lumps of meat and had a distinctive herb flavor. It was moist but not mushy like some can be. The combination of filler, and meat was at an enjoyable ratio.
The servers were friendly, however, even though the when we were there the place wasn’t that busy our server was slow to tend to us sometimes. Our drinks we empty for a good part of our meal. This is one of my biggest pet peeves of service at a restaurant.
Besides the hiccup in service, we will be heading back for another meal and to try out one of the other weekly/daily specials, watch a sports game or check our some of the live music.
