Tea parties warned over "crashers"

Local and national tea partiers warned over “crashers” and “infiltrators”

Misspelled signs and outrageous behavior to give crashers away
TheRichmond Tea Party and other Virginian tea party groups are advising supporters to be on the lookout for members of the new “Crash the Tea Party” movement at rallies this weekend and on Tax Day April 15.
The Crash the Tea Party proponents plan to accomplish their stated idea of ending the Tea Party by “infiltrating the Tea Party itself! In an effort to propagate their pre-existing propensity for paranoia and suspicion.”
On the Richmond Tea Party’s Facebook page members and other interested parties are warned that the ‘tea party crashers’ plan to infiltrate rallies posing as genuine Tea Party patriots with “misspelled signs and outrageous behavior to give us a bad name” said member Nancy O’Neill.
There are tea parties today in Virginia with the Powhatan Tax Payers Alliance holding one at 10:00 and the Stafford Tea Party holding another at the Stafford Courthouse from 11:00. Both are featuring Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli as the keynote speaker.
Crash the Tea Party states that they are trying to end the way the Tea Party does things and is setting out to stop what it calls the “fake grass roots movement” or “Astroturf” that is the tea party movement. The group says they are “A nationwide network of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents who are sick and tired of that loose affiliation of racists, homophobes and morons.”
The group goes on to say “We have already sat quietly in their meetings and observed their rallies.”
Conservative blogs have already fired back with scathing attacks on the Crash the Tea Party group and point out that it may be difficult to point out who are the real members of the Tea Party and those who are the crashers.
However, the infiltrators’ signs and behavior are likely to give them away. One blog writer states that after crashing the Crash the Tea Party Group he learned of a suggestion that was being made for crashers for signs that would shed a bad light on those in the Tea Party with a sign that read “Obama drinks the blood of aborted fetus.”
Conservative radio and TV host Sean Hannity spent a large portion of his radio show Friday warning genuine members of the Tea Party movement of the “crashers.”
The Crash the Tea Party group stress they seek a non-violent end to the tea party movement. Only time will tell whether the infiltrators and crashers will behave themselves and how this will be reported by the mainstream media.

Tea Partiers should also beware of these same "crashers" some of whom might resort to "violence" and "rude behavior" in order to discredit the Tea Party. This is the Alinsky method of blaming the enemy for an action the Alinskite commits. The "rude behavior," threatening calls, faxes, and emails were mostly the work of MoveOners,SEIUers, and ACORNers -- or the Democrats.

Ed, you are spot on as usual. I attended two tea parties today one in Powhatan and the other in Stafford both had Ken Cuccinelli speaking. The organizer of the Stafford one had signs made up that said "Not One of Us" with an arrow so they could hold it up next to "crashers". He also 'warned'the crowd in advance that he had 5 cameras and a hot line to the Sheriff's Office. That irked my First Amendment bone but made me laugh all the same. The crashers will come out to play Tax Day.

Since most of the folks in the SEIU, Move-on, and ACORN crowd are immature and intellectually vapid, they cannot thrive in honest and open debate, and, they are cowards to boot. They will NEVER silence us in the TEA Party. We are here - and we are here to stay. Get used to it.

ACORN does not exist because of the press that dried up private donations. ACORN was found innocent at the trial because the widely districuted tapes were doctored and found misleading by a court of law.

It is obvious that posters here believe in guilty until proven innocent, if they oppose their politics. Not what the founding fathers had in mind as outlined in the Constitution.

    TEA Party instructions:

If you see a misspelled or questionable sign, kindly tell the person so that they can put it down to avoid being nationally broadcast as illiterate. If they refuse, they are a plant. Gather more people and quietly take the sign from them or surround the plant and shout "HE (or she) IS A PLANT! HE IS A PLANT! HE IS A PLANT!" If anyone is seen with a racist, homophobic or hateful sign or shirt, do not let them stand! Gather MANY people and shout in the offenders face with such strength that they run away like the cowards that they truly are. If they are aggressive, remember that Obama's deputy chief of staff Jim Messina said “If you get hit, we will punch back twice as hard.” Americans will respect you for standing against the hate, and the moles will be exposed as the haters that they really are. This is our golden opportunity to show America, the media and this government what we're made of!

Matt Smith: Neither ACORN nor Focus on the Family should be receiving federal money. If ACORN want to preach their fascist agenda, they can do so with donations from hippies.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I love it. This is the way the tea party covers its own tracks... way to blame poor spelling, demonizing rhetoric, and hateful speech on those darned rootin' tootin' infilitratin' whatchamacallems

Constructive dialogue will get you a LONG way. Enough with the yelling and shouting... government efficiency and eliminating the national debt are noble virtues that most Americans believe in. A logical and SUBSTANTIVE message will go a long way. Tea partiers that only scream and shout campaign slogans just show the overwhelming majority of americans two things 1) when you win elections you scream mandate... but when a movement that has an opposing voice wins there is no mandate and illegitimacy AND 2) you have absolutely no capacity to discuss, debate, and compromise [completely contrary to how our FOUNDING FATHERS established our country]

For 'Acorn" to infiltrate a "Tea Party" would be like an "Eight Ball" crashing a 'Cue Ball" rally.

You don't have to be smart to make up your own mind--certainly not to vote. 53 million Amerikans proved that last No-vember. Juss'you point to that Republican button. I can push it!

Wow! Our taxes pay for ACORN? Is there a tea party near Austin TX? I would like to join. Sounds like freedom of speech may be endangered here. It DOES look like we should clean house at government level with all of these rediculous rules of law, and new taxes sxcheduled to be released on us soon.

    Karyn McDermott,

Try to make sure your subjects and verbs agree in number: "Crash the Tea Party states that they are trying to end the way the Tea Party does things and is setting out to stop what it calls the “fake grass roots movement” or “Astroturf” that is the tea party movement."

See what you did there? First, "they are," then they "is." You've got the group agreeing with a plural verb ("are") like they do in Britain —nothing wrong with that— but then by the second verb, all of a sudden "they" becomes singular ("is"). Then, in the second clause, it's an "it" instead of a "they."

You can use the singular verb with collective nouns (American style, as in "the group IS . . . ") or the plural verb with collective nouns (British style, as in "the group ARE . . . "), but you cannot use BOTH. And you should definitely avoid changing a "they" into an "it" mid-sentence. It makes you look like an amateur.

But sure, tell everyone how the misspellings and the bad grammar and the just-plain-nonsense are the work of pernicious "infiltrators." While you're at it, hire a copy editor, or just learn how to write.
