To those who think there will be lawsuits: Do your research (I know, it's hard!). Libel involves making false claims. As Fox News has shown us time and time again, simply asking questions is not Libel. Example: Saying "Barack Obama was not born in the United States" is false, and arguably criminal. However, asking "Was Barack Obama born in the US? Where is the birth certificate?" Totally fine. Claiming Glenn Beck murdered a girl without proof is illegal, but merely asking if he did? Totatlly ok.
In cases such as Hustler Magazine v. Jerry Falwell the courts have established again and again that satire is speech protected by the First Amendment. It is extremely difficult for public persons to win defamation cases.
Interesting legal issue here is whether courts will extend New York Times standard to on-line bloggers. We certainly don't meet the same editorial standards here that we do in writing for newspapers (I do both). The 1st Amendment protections that shaped the libel laws seem less compelling here, in my opinion.
