Kate Middleton's vacation puts island on lock-down just to avoid pictures?

Kate Middleton’s family vacation is causing friction among the elite set that frequent the island paradise of Mustique. With Kate joining her family on the island, the security is beefed up to the point where it’s hampering others on the island trying to enjoy their vacations. The main reasons these security precautions were put in place is so that no one can snap a picture of Kate or her family while there, according to the Daily Mail.

People are not allowed to use the elegant golf carts to get around the island, which is one of the draws to this tropical oasis. This is causing the people who paid good money to vacation there at this time to really feel second rate. Many of the island’s visitors are millionaires and come there to get the first class treatment their accustomed to. Even people walking along the beach are randomly stopped and questioned, which is invading their privacy. To gain entrance to a couple of the trendy and popular hotel restaurants you need to be driven there by one of the island’s hotel shuttle buses. If you get there on your own accord, you are turned away.

The ironic part about this over-the –top security is that the island's management company is providing this without any charge to Kate or the royal family. The tight security might have been good advertising for the rich and famous looking for a private vacation area. It might have enticed other notable names to pick the island for their next vacation, but with all the complaints it might have backfired.

As the news gets around that even millionaires vacationing there are getting treated like regular tourists when it comes to providing security first for Kate and her family, it might have the opposite effect on people wanting to go there. It sounds like as a celebrity you can vacation there but just keep your fingers crossed that no one shows up that’s more famous than you are or you’re out of luck!

Connecticut fans of the royal family enjoyed "Princess Diana – A Celebration" exhibit that was on display at Connecticut’s Foxwoods Casino and Resort for the holiday season. Last week the exhibition packed up and went back to London, but it was in the Nutmeg State for a few months, so many got the chance to see it. This show included 29 of Diana’s iconic dresses, including her 25 foot train wedding dress.
