Chris Rock Good Hair movie - Watch new Chris Rock Good Hair movie trailer video sneak preview online

Healthy black hair is "good hair"

Watch the new Chris Rock "Good Hair" movie clip below; it's very entertaining, and makes viewers even more excited to watch Chris Rock's "Good Hair" documentary movie when it arrives in theaters October 2, 2009.

IMDB is reporting as of this writing that Chris Rock's "Good Hair" movie will open in a limited theatrical release -- however, here's hoping that the Good Hair movie overtakes the box office with a #1 box office take even as early as Friday, October, 2, 2009, forcing the studio heads and execs to open Rock's "Good Hair" in wide release across the country and overseas, eventually.

Watch the new movie trailer of Chris Rock's "Good Hair" documentary movie online:

Starring famous black artists like Meagan Good, who admits she wears extensions, to Sandra 'Pepa' Denton, who admits that relaxers burned the side of her hair off -- and that's how her infamous asymmetrical hair style in the "Push It" video was born -- Chris Rock has already hit a winner in choosing the "Good Hair" controversial topic for a film that was well-received at Sundance.

It all began when Chris Rock's daughter asked him: "Daddy, why don't I have good hair?"

Raven-Symoné also admits in the film to wearing a weave, and humorously tugs it from side to side.

"Memphis hair police": Funny book on "Good Hair"

Comedian Paul Mooney dons an Afro wig and quips that "When black people wear a relaxer, white people are relaxed. When we're nappy, they're not happy."

"This is a weave," Nia Long confesses -- saying in the below video in an interview with Chris Rock and the Good Hair director Nelson George that she knew she had to come with it, or she'd end up on the cutting room floor.

Cheryl 'Salt' James sits next to her former group mate and makes an appearance, along with other stars like Tracie Thoms, Kerry Washington, Maya Angelou, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Eve, Melyssa Ford, Andre Harrell, Ice-T, Sarah Jones, KRS-One, Faheem Najm    (as T-Pain), Salli Richardson-Whitfield, who are all listed as part of the cast on Good Hair's IMDB page.

Watch Nia Long say she knew she had to be honest about her weave, or else end up on the cutting room floor and not in the "Good Hair" movie:

Another funny exchange in the Good Hair film occurs between Chris Rock and the Rev. Al Sharpton when Rock asks Sharpton if his wife lets the Rev. touch her hair.

"The real question is whether I let her touch mine," Rev. Sharpton answers, aware of his own famously relaxed (or press and curl?) crown.

Perhaps the funniest exchanges are between Chris Rock and the people he interviews in hair salons not only in the USA, but between the long-haired Indian woman whom he warns to run if she sees a black woman.

Chris Rock runs his fingers through one black woman's newly straightened hair and declares, "I still have my ring on."

Black men joke that they already know not to run their fingers through a black woman's hair on point, and black women concur throughout the film that they don't like people messing around in their hair.

Huge vats of relaxer are displayed in the film, as well as a surprising scene showing the sodium- or calcium-hydroxide based relaxers eating through an aluminum can.

With heavy humor handling a delicate topic that has been the source of pain from even before the days that only certain black people were allowed to get into black clubs if they were lighter than a paper bag -- and if they could run a fine-toothed comb through their hair, "Good Hair" is going to expose some ugly truths and beautiful roots that need to be exposed and discussed.

i cannot wait for this film to be released. my (white) boyfriend and I will be front row. He's coming really close to getting it, but I believe this will help to further his understanding of keeping his hands out of my hair!!

It really annoys me to see Black people making a fool of one another. Why would anyone make a movie about your self the the white race could belittle us black folks even more? Is Chris Rock that hungry for money? Shame on anyone going to see that move, he will not get my money. From what i heard its total disgrace to show black women weaves and wigs etc. Some things are better left unsaid. Shame on you idiots what is happening to the young black people. Including Tara Banks she is another idiot going on TV exposing her hair "it's all mine" - no class, no character, no shame. That is something private and we as black people cannot see we are exploiting ourselves. Total disgrace indeed.

This type of publicity is all wrong. Again, another fool making money defaming his race. Why do you feel the need to put our business out there Chris Rock? I hate you.

There you go JOE! All of us DON'T wear fake hair. I wear my hair natural and this film makes it seem like we allllllll wear weaves and full lace wigs. WE DONT. For those who do, that's THEIR business. I cant believe that black men and women care so much about if another sister has fake hair or not. MIND YOUR BUSINESS. I was sick of Tyra always talking about her wigs and Wendy Williams always talks about hers and it makes it seem like we (black women) all wear fake hair. There was a white woman on the bus today staring down into my scalp (she was taller than me) and I wanted to 'give her a few words'. Talk about why black people are killing each other in the streets every damn day. Why are black people sooooo materialistic? why don't black mothers and black fathers SHOW their children that a COMPLETE education including college is the only way to live? Do a documentary on that!!!! That is the important issue NOT good hair.

Yea, I agree with MANY of your comments. We are ALREADY looked down upon. The black community have issues in our communities with violence, under-educated youth. Another example, black parents not actually PARTICIPATING in their kids education. Black adults not expressing to children how important it is to obtain a college degree now, not just a high school diploma. So why is Chris Rock putting this movie out here making it look like we all wear weaves. It's bad enough that Tyra talked about her wigs obsessively on her talk show (this season she decided to wear her own hair). Now there is a movie out there. Now white people have one more thing to degrade our people about. We're willing to spend that much money on relaxers and wigs and weaves but don't really invest in our communities, education, and health. Damn shame.

All black women don't wear weaves and for the ones that do...it doesn't mean they have bad hair. It could mean that they just want to make it longer or fuller. White women wear weaves all the time. ex. Brittany Spears, Danity Kane, and so many more. Asian women were the first to wear weaves. They invented weave for themselves during the Geisha years. So if he wanted to do a story about weaves, it shouldn't only be about black women. So uneducated of you Chris.

Why is it such a big deal how black woman do their hair? I wear weaves and I wear my natural hair. Whats it to anybody else as long as I look good. Women should be allowed to express themselves with there hair if they want to without it being a self esteem reason. I just like to change my look every once and a while not because I think I have bad hair.

My white female friend wears more weave them me...Thats so stupid to say that black women wear weave because we hate our hair...SO STUPID!!!! Some of us like to change our look at times. Nobody like to wear the same clothes or same color every day. Why can't a women change her hair without people thinking that its something deeper...IT's NOT PEOPLE!!!!

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!! this is one subject that should not become a documentary, black women have it hard already as it is. Putting there buisness out there like that is humiliating, giving people an inside look into what measures we go to to look european or have "good hair" will only result in more discrimination and assumptions that other races are better because of hair types.

A couple of white ladies at my job told me about this move and I was appalled! Why would any black man want to exploit the black woman? For every black young woman with what most consider to be good hair others including those of her own race will wonder if it’s a weave. For those of us who believe they need to relax our hair or even add hair this makes them feel self conscious. White men do not exploit their women Why must black men continue to do this to us. The white women just think it’s funny!

I am telling everyone I know not to go see this movie. The black comedians are hurting the image of black women. I have long hair relaxed and all my life I have been accused of wearing fake hair. After this movie, all the white people are going to think all balck women wear fake hair and can't grow their own hair. This sucks! yes I hate the selfdistruction that's happening. White woment wear extentions which is weave but it's not talked about. Dolly Parton, Jessicna Simpson and other singers. it's assumed buy all that it's there hair. This is a big step backwards for our race.

All my life I, as well as my daughters of 5 and 10, have felt like our hair is a curse of some kind.I would also like to thank Chris Rock for helping to lower the self esteem of women and little black girls everywhere.Good job Chris. It doesn't surprise me.These days black men(not all) seem to get a kick out of downing our skin, hair, and everything else. The only race of men on the planet that make their women look like the women nobody wants except for a good lay.

Chris Rock should be sued by every black women in America. I agree with most of the comments on this blog. Again, this is nothing but a disgrace, and I am so tired of ignorate black people embarrassing our race. You will never find any other race of men critize and disrespect their women like black men. I do not wear weaves. All women can grow hair, long or short if they take care of it. I believe the hair weaves fad will eventually fade out somewhat. The only problem I have is when I see black men and women who were dreads and braids, especially dreads. Dreadlocks lock depressing, dirty, and they smell no matter how much the person bathes. In addition, they represent the look of as snakes like medusa. People should read about the dark history of dreadlocks before they grow them in the hair. The solution to all of this is a comb and some scissors. Not everyone can grow long hair. Therefore, get a sharp hair cut, maintain it and you will look your best.

Chris Rock did you have to go this route. It is bad enough most of the black men in this country are either dating or marrying women of other races. I have long relaxed hair, and will continue to where relaxed as long as I can. I thought to myself, perhaps the movie is a wake up call for all black people to stop putting so much emphasis on hair and focus on something more positive, like having trying to have better attitude, or losing weight. Chris Rock failed to add in his movie that some caucasion women get relaxers, such as Jewish women who have extremely thick curly, almost coarse hair. It was not necessary for Chris Rock to put us all on blast and make us feel disgusting. He should have produced a movie to help correct the recidivism rates of black males going back and forth to jail. This movie is nothing but a modern day minstral show depicting black self hatred. Chris, you are very petty and small. I did not know you were so low and downright ignorant. Get a life.

I feel that even though black and white women use extentions and weaves in an attempt to please men or themselves, I have always felt that it is just as fake as colored contact lenses and fake fingernails, breast implants, botox injections, and all the rest.
I prefer the natural woman. I want to awake next to them same woman I went to sleep with and not have to wait for her to litterally put on the coustume.
The Jeri Curl did not last, The Shag did not last, why should perming your hair or adding extentions? Everything Changes.
What's more important is that if all women would refuse to accept a man that wears his pants sagging so far down that you can see his boxers, that horrible trend would end.
It seems we are always complaining about something and seem happier when doing so.
We are told that we need to be sucessful and come up with brilliant ideas to make money. Someone like Chris Rock or
some one off the street does this and the public
    tries to crucify them.

Another thing is we should stop worrying about what ANY body thinks of you. Why do you care what white folks think?
Please God, who created you as you are.
    He made no errors.
Be proud of the person in the mirror if you can!!!
Raise your children to respect themselves and others.
That alone will stop a lot of the violence.
If I respect you... I'm not trying to kill you.
I am not perfect, but I have not met a perfect human.
I would rather strive to be more like our creator.
