Testimony before a Senate investigative panel this week is expected to reveal what many have suspected about BP all along; they don’t care about the environment, the animals that are dying, and the lives that are being destroyed by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
In a shocking interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper on June 29th, Allegiance Capitol Corporation V.P. Fred McCallister said that BP is deliberately sinking oil with the toxic chemical disbursant Corexit, to hide the size of the oil spill. By sinking the oil before it can be collected, BP won’t have to pay fines on it.
McCallister said, “Everybody in Europe, where the standard practice is to raise the oil and collect it, is scratching their heads, and quite honestly laughing at what’s happening in the Gulf.” He added, “Everyone is looking at us and wondering why we’re allowing this to happen.”
McCallister is set to appear before a Senate investigative panel on Thursday and testify that BP’s only interests regarding the Deepwater Horizon spill is protectimg their own financial interests. His statements explained why BP has been refusing offers of help from additional foreign skimmers.
BP’s fear is that independent skimmers would be able to count the number of gallons collected, and thus provide the US government with data to assess spill rate financial penalties against BP, according to McCallister.
“BP is in control of this situation and they are doing what’s in the best interests of BP and their shareholders,” McCallister said.

In Europe, we have never scratched our heads. We simply laugh at the incredible stupidity of US people, who haven't grasped yet, BP (Big Polluter) is conveniently disposing the visibility of epic proportions of the oil spill by massive use of Corexit. What American's can't see, about they don't care. Due to the widespread scientific illiterism, the general populace can't even recognize the outcome: The corexitized Gulf of Mexico is becoming a dead zone for the next half of a century - in the most opimistic case. And we laugh even more about the US government, who still trusts in the incompetence of BP, who tells the fairy tale to them, two collection ships at the well site would be 'everything that can be done'. The hard fact is, BP has a so called open hole problem. So the two relief wells currently in work are meant as financial relief wells, since they can't fix an open hole problem. The cover-up helps even Obama. It avoids to tell the people, only a nuke could stop this monster.
I wish the feds had cooperated quicker with the state so our wetlands and estuaries would be under less of a threat. I fear their delays and denial over the need for lots more equipment and for them to actually remove the oil from the water at the surface rather than create this huge impossible to defend against subsurface toxic monster, is going to cause us to have the major losses we've feared since early May. We could have been much better prepared to defend our shores if BP and the feds had cooperated and not been so deceitful about the quantity of oil or that they were doing everything possible - which has not been true. But, it looks like it is too late. We just have to suck up another major tragedy. They still seem reluctant to do what it takes to defend the wetlands. It seems they feel our losses will be their gains for some reason.
I agree US people are quite stupid generally. I'm often ashamed to be a citizen. It has been quite obvious to thinking people that the dispersants are only being used to hide the oil from cameras. Sadly, our government is corporately owned and will do whatever their masters dictate. We once had a pretty great country.

I live on the Gulf and I never thought I would see the Gulf Of Mexico become expendable.BP basically just bought the Gulf and threw it out like an old retention pond.We have learned nothing from Exxon Valdez. We talk "green""recycle" and have "earth days" at a price.BP just like any big corporation is all about profit and will hide any evidence that implicates them.BP will drag everything out in court, write the cleanup as an expense on taxes, limit liability on what damage was done.At this very moment BP is burying the evidence so they can claim later that the spill was not that bad or that was not our oil.BP makes more money than most countries do you really think they are going to want to change things with the oil and our dependancy?
I am very disappointed in our government because MMS was suppose to regulate(who signed the PERMIT)and we should have not allowed BP to be in charge of the clean-up.The oil should never been allowed to reach the shore and just because we can't see the hydrocarbons/benzene beneath the surface does not mean they are not there. It will be DECADES before the marshes, beaches and estuaries return. It will be a race against time for scientists to realize what species are CRASHING and try to save them. You can probably start a list alredyKemps Ridley , blue fin tuna,Brown pelicans etc.WE destroyed the great lakes already why not the Gulf!!!
The Gulf is dying and the residents are weeping coming to say good-bye to an old friend their GULF meanwhile OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS are pointing their fingers at one another, poising for photo-ops and talking big. There is an old saying you don't know what you got until it is gone. GULF ..GONE BABY GONE
THis is a special message to MY PRESIDENT who I don't even reconize anymore because the person who campaigned is not the person who is in the white house.I voted for you and I wish I could go thru a hot tub time machine and take my vote back...THANKS FOR KILLING THE GULF
I am saddened by the Gulf disaster. I am saddened by the plight of the American worker, whose wages continue to go down while the price of everything goes up. The American people are like the frog in the pan of warm water that is heating up so slowly that the frog doesn`t realize that he is already dead. The American dream is for sale to the highest bidder, and the supreme court has made sure that the highest bidder will be "corporate citizen"
I am saddened by the passing of a wonderful experiment called democracy.

BP lied about the magnitude of the spill and even though they made 259 billion last year I am not so sure of their future NOR DO I CARE and I will never buy another gallon of gas/oil from them.My local owner is not that great of a person anyway.
I think people are angry at the President because of how he handled the crisis and no we do not expect him to swim down there and plug the damn hole.ALL TALK and there was a chance to corral the spill.Did you see the guy with a mop trying to clean the marsh in LA.?Americans expected better OBama.
Obama can't blame Bush either his administration signed off on the Well and he said he was in charge since day 1.
I know why I am indepedent and never became a republican or democrat...Did you see that grandstanding?
Excuse Me, but Anderson suggested the the EPA "sanctined the use of" Corexit.. no sir, they told BP to stop using it, and BP has failed to comply. This is FALSE information Mr. Cooper. Wagging the dog??

of course they are trying to sink it, you can see the bots spraying the oil below with corexit as it comes out, this feed has been going on for weeks what did they think that white stuff was that they were spraying into the plume???
When Obama owns 83 million dollars worth of BP stock he hopes the American people says let the gov take over this...that means your tax dollars instead of BP's money and Obama's investment pays for their disaster. Wanna see BP clean it up fast? charge them a billion a day. That will end this right now. If Corexit is so toxic which I agree it is...then make companies like Windex and pesticide companies stop using that same chemical in common household product they sell to Americans every day. Goldman Sachs, and most of the banks the American people just bailed out...bailed out on their BP stocks a couple of weeks "before" this disaster. They need to tell us what they knew that no one else knew. This well was leaking already since Feb...not shocking right after BP pulled out of the same Cap and Trade scam group they created...halliburton works on their rig and 12 hours is blows up. Coincidence? Ask OBama...he's the only one who seems to think a ponzi Cap and Trade scam is linked to this.
Correction...Obama stands to make 85 million on BP oil spill. Obama also knew about Deepwater Horizon drilling to 35,000 feet. US Army Corp of Engineers, FEMA, the Pentagon, and Interior and Energy Depts told Obama that the newly discovered estimated 3 to 4 billion barrels of oil in the gulf of Mexico would cover America's oil needs for up to 8 months if there was a US military attack on Iran that resulted in the cut off of oil to the US from the Persian Gulf. because of this...and no doubt Obama's "investment" BP was allowed to have several safety checks waived because the WH was in stages of attacking Iran. Yea... OBama the prez of "changes" we can believe in right? Add that to the fact that they lost their last Repub vote for Cap and Scam..selling BP stock early by banks and we have a lot of fraud being committed against the American people. Will the "real" media please stand up because we have no idea where YOU have been all this time?
44 US Lawmakers Also sold off BP shares - before the explosion
Members of the congressional committees that oversee the oil and gas industry held more than $11 million. From the nearly $100,000 in BP stock held by Rep. Frederick Upton (R-Mich.) to the nearly $650,000 in ConocoPhillips shares held by Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), lawmakers on five key panels with oversight of the oil industry held more than 110 assets in firms from that sector.
How Halliburton is profiting from the Gulf oil spill --Shortly before the Deepwater Horizon blowout, Halliburton bought an "oil spill prevention" firm.
How coincidental...Halliburton is the "last" company working on this rig...12 hours later it blows up...and they just happen to have the insight to buy an oil spill clean up company before this blast.
Duh!
Now we need to write, call, protest at the White House. Make Obama make them stop!
When President Obama goes thru sanctions, he needs to require each and every oil well that drills in the the US to have a device called an Acoustic Shutoff valve, which costs about 500,000,according to press reports, the cost of a single day's operation of the Deepwater Horizon. If it had one of them on there, it would have enabled the remote shutoff of this leaking well by sending a sonar signal. While this would not have stopped the inital explosion, it would have stopped the leak and spill. The device is required by many nations including Norway and Brazil, but not the US.All that's needed here in the US is a licence to drill. Since bp was notorious for cutting cornors, they would have never given up a days profit for such a thing. Due to all their safety violations, they would much rather pay fines then fix things.Tony Hayward does not give a damn what is happening here in our beautiful gulf.I say we should make the board of bp clean those poor oiled birds.Make them clean the oil.

All of these suggestion are good and they would work if our own president didn't stand to greatly profit from allowing this spill to go on unabated. Once he unloaded his BP stock...keeping his investments in the 3 accounts with Vanguard..he stands to make another 100 million over the next ten years because their largest stock holding is with Exxon Mobil. Who is set to buy out BP once their stocks drop to rock bottom prices? Exxon. The same oil company they let off the hook with the Valdez spill clean up. None of this wealth of Obama, Goldman Sachs, banks etal..would be possible without this disaster..in which all their their earlier quick sales of their BP stocks reveal they knew something was going to happen with BP. Tell me how adding more environmental restrictions will ever stop another disaster like this when our own government and legislators own massive stocks in oil and this conflict of interest makes them turn a blind eye to all current restrictions?
america is rotten, ruled by greedy corporations, poisoning the gulf and the ecosystem of the children of the future for their own profits, and they're all implicated, the president, certainly bush/cheney cabal, the banks, the military, a greedy cesspool of toxic buffoons
it would not surprise me at all that BP deliberately blew up that well! and that our government was behind it all!

some of the comments early disappeared?
My first comment was on BP and it like any other huge company is going to try to protect itself.I never thought I would see the day the Gulf Of Mexico is bought, polluted and discarded like an old retention pond.At this very moment BP is hiding and destroying the evidence.BP will drag this out in court just like Exxon did. They will try and say that the oil spill was not that bad or it was not their oil.BP just like an other corporation is about the P+L sheet.I have worked for a big corp and all they care about is profit profit profit and they will do anything to protect their corporation.Everything else including their workers, fraud and pollution doesn't matter.BP made 259 BILLION dollars last year which is most than some small countries.DO YOU REALLY THINK BP IS GOING CHANGE? AND ACCEPT A CHANGE TO ANYTHING BESIDES OIL?
last comment.. why would I subscribe to this page if all of the people's comments are deleted.I thought you wanted to get peoples opinion and they are deleted? None of them were considered offensive? It is good to hear other peoples take

Yep, your right on Richard old buddy. But guess what, isn't it every American's dream to have as much money as possible, sell anything and everything to the highest bidder, hoard all your gains jealously, and to hell with the rest of the World ?
Where were the good folks of the U.S. when U.S. lawmakers passed that Corprations are human ? LOL, how many protests did we see in the streets then ?
Methinks the people of the U.S. have simply got to get off their proverbial back sides and initate ACTION/PROTESTS in the streets or on the lawns of their congress men and women, to get their message across, and STOP voting for them.
From the article:
"'Everyone [in Europe] is looking at us and wondering why were allowing this to happen.'
Doesn't BP stand for British Petroleum? Why is Britain allowing this to happen?

They changed the name to BP a few years ago... a majority of the investors of BP are American banks, insurance companies, politicians etal..
The fact remains that we have enough oil on US "land" to cover the US for years...and years... we did not need to drill in the sea and we do not need to be dependent upon foreign oil. Talk to any "independent" well owner and you will hear where all the oil is and you will see that it is because of the United Nations and their massive land grabbing of "our" resources is why Americans have been denied access to their "own" oil. Then see how Nigeria has had an ongoing massive oil spill for over 50 years. Ask the world media why they are targeting "this" spill and saying it will be the worst in history? Then look up the tons of other spills that have happened in the world in just the last few years... see the potential for a major set up in the making if they try to tie in all those other spills and make it look like "this" spill destroyed the worlds water. Are Americans ready to take on the cost of cleaning the seas of the world if they are able to pull that ultimate scam off on them?
USGS provides the data for where all our US oil is. Look up "USGS provides science for changing world". Now compare that to the same land the United Nation has managed to gain control of through UNESCO. In 2002 they already had control of more then 70 million acres of prime US land, without congressional consultation or approval. In 2008 the United Nations implemented REDD and that act threatened the land use of 60 million indigenous people. 2010 Obama is set to give them 10 million more acres of US land. There is a lot more to why this spill never needed to happen then meets the eye. Bu when we have a president who is desperate to get the largest ponzi scheme ever concocted passed into law such as cap and Trade we will see him work against the rights of land owners in his own country to accomplish it. When Obama stood to gain 85 million from his own investment in BP...the whole thing is a win-win for Obama. They create the disaster..Obama sells stocks-then uses it for Cap and Trade

It would be good to see something more than teabagger anti-UN rants on this page.
What happens to people once they get to Washington? I am not a republican or democrat. What I have read and seen about the Tea Party I am not convinced.
OBAMA you SAID YOU WERE IN CHARGE SINCE DAY 1.YOU DECLARED "WAR" ON THE OIL SPILL.....SOLVE THE PROBLEM!!!!!......
OBAMA THIS OIL SPILL IS MAKING YOU LOOK INCOMPETANT! and I voted for you....remember? CHANGE THE WAY WASHINGTON DOES THINGS?

Don't expect the corrupted senate to do anything. They have been bought and paid for by corporate amerika. The congress and senate no longer work for the people, they now work for the elite. The elite think "we the people" are useless eaters and need to be exterminated. The corporate cronies that have taken over congress will work with the elite to destroy this country. Those that are too stupid to wake up, that are "soft kill" by the elites no loss there.
When the UN continues to delve into our rights to own land, our rights to have access to our resources, and our rights to protect the infrastructure that holds our economy together...I guess you could say that anyone who gets that would become anti-UN and pro-America. Look at the UN website for yourself and see Agenda 21 if you think these are just "rants". Also look into Obama and his stocks in BP. Look into the rest I shared about the amount of oil the US has via the records of USGS. It is all verifiable. Labeling others will not make the truth go away...it will only keep you in denial longer while nothing for the better occurs to stop this issue we face. The only label that defines me is American. I have yet to go to any tea party..or join any other group...It's time we pull together on that common bond of being "American" because all these groups only further divide our collective strength to turn the tide of the path we are on.
Even more disgusting than the destruction of wildlife in the quest for profits is the concealment of technologies that can replace oil as a fuel. People like Stan Myers, Daniel Dingle and others have been able to run cars on water by splitting the hydrogen and oxygen. There is also a car that runs on compressed air (theaircar.com) and an electric battery that has been held back.
protectimg?
Paddy, you are correct. Those technologies do exist. The problem with this is even when they do allow other technologies to come forward that do not deplete our natural resources they price them out of the affordability of a "majority" of the population. Ever wonder why GE is hardcore for Cap and Trade? Who do you think will bank millions from the profits of over priced "energy savings" devices? If you then take a look into the dangerous radioactive materials they are throwing into recycled products (which are largely unregulated from inspections and in which a vast majority comes right back in from China..thanks to UN trade agreements) you would also see where the green movement has been the perfect front to allow industries to have the scapegoat to get rid of toxic materials instead of facing containment fees to protect us from them. The tax payer is the only who isn't clued into this until they pay with their health. Look up radioactive Lazy Boy recliners for just one example.

As I ride my bicycle around town and see the fat, stinking, gluttonous pigs called my neighbors and fellow citizens I can't help but think; they are the real reason we can't change anything in this country for the better. If I can't trust them on what they put in their own mouths and bodies how can I trust them on anything of value concerning my future. It's not BP, Obama or Bush... it's you, fatso.
Nobody is laughting about that in Europe
If you are opening up a criminal investigation AND ANNOUNCE IT against a person or company(BP) WHY would you EXPECT them to act responsible and not try to hide evidence(disperants)?
Is our government that STUPID?
Does the local and federal government really think they are going to clean up the oil spill with a bunch of guys with shovels and trash bags?
We have formed our own little group down near ANNA MARIA Island Florida and the OIL WILL NOT WASH ASHORE.LET THE COAST GUARD TRY AND STOP US!
Why is a whistleblower giving testimony to Congress? This strikes me as being a part of the problem. A simple internet search for info on COREXIT dispersant, the reported material being injected into the oil spill, pulls up a lot of reliable public information pertinent to the issues. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are legally required to be available. These documents clearly state that COREXIT is intended for oil spill dispersion. There are documents for COREXIT use protocol.
By the way, COREXIT, sold by Nalco, may be a commercial name for a product that "CORRECTS IT"!
I think all BP CEO's, CFO's, Presidents, VP's and the Board of Directors should be forced to buy Gulf front Properties and be forced to live there, maybe that will change their response to this clusterf.
