Gulf oil spill disaster: Media blackout hides critical data on relief wells: Video, photos

BP Gulf disaster: Relief well progress and media blackout paint a grim picture

The media blackout is as much of a clue to the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster story as the oil itself, you just have to connect the dots. Once you do, it all makes sense.

Mississippi Canyon Block 252 in the Gulf of Mexico is a deep core monster. Seismic studies done  in 2003  showed huge pockets of methane gas under volcanic pressure. "Some speculate as much as 100,000 psi — far too much for current technology to contain," said, Energy and Capital Editor, Christian DeHaemer.

There is evidence to suggest that BP should never have been allowed to poke a hole in it. A 1997 MMS report explains the reasons in detail.

After reading the MMS report, it is apparent that BP knew that the risks of tapping the Macondo field were huge. But the financial rewards were too tempting; the Macondo reservoir holds the second largest deposit of natural gas and oil on the planet. And there is scientific evidence to suggest, in the video below, that it is virtually bottomless, through deep channels to the largest reservoir in the world - near the Yucatan peninsula.

Damage to the well

Once the Deepwater Horizon exploded, the battle against the well under volcanic pressure began. When the top kill failed, it got exponentially worse.

The Wall Street Journal wrote : "WASHINGTON—BP PLC has concluded that its "top-kill" attempt last week to seal its broken well in the Gulf of Mexico may have failed due to a malfunctioning disk inside the well about 1,000 feet below the ocean floor."

A report from an apparent oil industry insider said,  “There are no "Disks" or "Subsea safety structure" 1,000 feet below the sea floor, all that is there is well bore. There is nothing that can allow the mud or oil to "escape" into the rock formation outside the well bore except the well, because it is the only thing there.” Adding, “All the actions and few tid bits of information all lead to one inescapable conclusion. The well pipes below the sea floor are broken and leaking. Now you have some real data of how BP's actions are evidence of that, as well as some murky statement from "BP officials" confirming the same.”

Business Insider supports the claim, “The well bore structure is compromised ‘Down hole’.”

Whether the well was damaged in the initial explosion, or after the top kill failed does not change the fact that it is done. So when BP cut the top off the BOP, warnings that it would increase the flow were a clue that they knew they had to reduce the pressure below to keep the whole well from exploding.

“If you note their actions, that should become clear. They have shifted from stopping or restricting the gusher to opening it up and catching it. This only makes sense if they want to relieve pressure at the leak hidden down below the seabed.....and that sort of leak is one of the most dangerous and potentially damaging kind of leak there could..There is no way to stop that leak from above, all they can do is relieve the pressure on it and the only way to do that right now is to open up the nozzle above and gush more oil into the gulf and hopefully catch it, which they have done, they just neglected to tell us why,” the report adds.

It is a foregone conclusion that erosion in what’s left of the casing is progressing and it is impossible for it to do anything but get worse over time. At some point, the entire system will fail. We can’t change the laws of physics.

The Media Blackout

The relief wells could face the same fate as the Deepwater Horizon if they too, hit a gas bubble. There may also not be enough casing left for any cement to adhere to.

The BOP is leaning (see photos below). This was also confirmed in a statement by US Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen in early June.

At some point, stress, pressure and deterioration will bring the BOP down. At that point - the well wins.

Hiding these facts from the public, along with the massive damage from the millions of gallons of oil and toxic gasses that have already been released makes sense to the government and BP. America is not prepared to handle 50 million refugees, and in this instance, there could be no such thing as an ‘orderly evacuation.’ Furthermore, BP might never have enough money to pay for that much damage.

Authorities are putting their hopes in the success of the relief wells to contain the underground volcano, which no one will put a 100% guarantee on for success. It’s a race against time, and the laws of physics.

Perhaps some official knows the real chances of success for the relief wells, but like so much in this complicated disaster, they are not announcing it. It does appear as though there is much to be questioned, and it is up to the public to gather their own information and conclusions - however unsettling they may be.

Makes sense now , they are keeping people away from all areas. That also explains why they are concentrating on capturing the oil instead of stopping it.

Let me get this straight... You expect the world to believe, without a shred of evidence or actual scientific fact, that the oil well was actually a volcano? I'm all for calling BP a bunch of morons on this one, because let's be honest, they pulled an incredible stupid that we will now All pay for, but a volcano, really?

Here's the deal. I'll sum this up as succintly as possible. Your claim is no less crazy than David Booth's claim that the well was in fact bombed by a North Korean missile submarine.

Most of your points in this story, I'm not even going to bother addressing. You wouldn't alter your view if I did, you'd only accuse me of being a BP employee. I'll simply go at this from the following: You're wrong, and you should consider taking a course in geology before you make such claims.

With how things are in the gulf currently, a volcano or otherwise will still leave the gulf uninhabitable for decades, if not centuries. It'll just never be the same.

If it were that easy to kill us all, a quake would have done it millenia ago.

Yes, BP is obviously both underexaggerating and flat out lying to cover their asses, but the absolute worse case scenario I've heard (that has actual science behind it) is that the whole Gulf becomes a dead zone, not "ZOMG WE'RE DOOMED!" That's still a pretty horrible outcome, yes, but it's not even remotely close to what this article is trying to claim.

I read this on abovetopsecret.com This is very much TRUE, and some of the BP Idiots/Cheats/Liars are on here pulling the "discredit card", and will reap their follies soon. Just wait for the hurricanes to come to complicate the issues more, trust me, it's in the cards for more drama to unfold. It's either going to collaspe or blow, but which ever event happens, it's going to HUGE, and the Fallout even Bigger!

He has absolutely NO IDEA what this spill will do to WEATHER PATTERNS, GIVE ME A BREAK!! Suggesting that an increase in HURRICANES from this is like saying that "rolling a marble down the street toward a liquor store will cause it to bounce off the curb, fly through a window shattering the glass, causing the burglar alarm to go off that will scare the cat that lives there, making it jump off the counter top, knocking over a lamp that will catch the place on fire and BURN IT DOWN!"

This guy's scenario is just as ridiculous!

To some of you guys who already wrote comments: The use of the term "volcano" in this article has been a bit misleading. No lava here, they are just talking about the effect of the huge gas pressure locked under the layer of impermeable rocks.
BTW, as an ex engineer on drilling rig, what this article says is technically possible. Hopefully it is not going to happen.

Ok, so they hit a thief zone and the relief wells are going to be diving into it too. BP claims a 3000psi differential at sea bottom. We're talking about a 20" bore. How much mud will counterbalance 3000 psi? Given a crude/mud ratio of 2:1? About 1500" feet of it, I'd guess. Now if the relief column is under that, the re isn't anyway to push enough mud to stall the original well and top capping will just blow the cement cap (what there is of it) and the blowout preventer stack away.

Is that clear enough for you?

...if the whole gulf were turned into a DEAD Zone there would be world ending implications.

-the oil will not stay in the gulf.

-the corexit9500 causes oil to "phase" transition into the rain clouds.

-Russia's ministry of natural resources just informed their president :

if the leak is not stopped: the entire eastern half of the north american continent will be UNiNHABITABLE!!!

if they are 1/2 right...it's the end of the world economy.

BP is such a joke… they should all be arrested along with the US govt. How long ago did they cap the leak? And how many legitimate claims are still “pending” from damages they suffered back in the beginning of the summer? I happen to know three people that were affected directly by BP’s shady PR tactics and manipulation of our laws, one of whom was a journalist who was almost arrested and charged with felonies for taking pictures of oil covered animals near the coast. Not only is it bad enough that thousands of fishers’ lively hoods are ruined for god knows how many years to come, they were paid a pathetic amount of money to clean up BP’s own mess. To add even more insult to injury, BP used Corexit 9527, which contains mainly 2-butoxyethanol, which is very toxic. You wouldn’t have to be a scientist to know that, since in the first week of using it over 70 fisherman ended up at the hospital. Of course if you even inquired about this, I’m sure the govt (which is pretty much owned by oil companies) would deal with you quite quickly, let alone taking pictures of it in an attempt to run a story on it. If you didn’t know already, the govt is doing what they do best… crapping on the 1st amendment: naturalnews.com/029130_Gulf_of_Mexico_censorship.html. My friend who almost got arrested on felony charges simply went out on a boat into about 30 feet of water and used a water proof cam to photograph one of the many oil plumes forming at the bottom of the surface (which BP vehemently denies). Now here comes the hilarious part. He switched the film in his camera with a blank one in the event they were stopped by police, which they were as soon as they got back to shore. They let him go but still took his name down, and what do you know... later that night, 2 guys wearing black hoodies attempted to break into his house. He caught pics of them on his home security system (he saved the pics… wireless adt camera break in photos). Hmm, I wonder who paid these guys to break in and what they were after? Definitely not BP or our govt, that’s for sure!
