U.S. taxpayers funding terrorism: the ties that blind

Read this column in new book coming out Oct. 2011: "The Cross & the Constitution in the Age of Incoherence," by Allan Erickson, Tate Publishing.

Columnist Melanie Phillips clarifies:

“Sharia requires Muslims to tithe a percentage of their money to charity, called ‘zakat’. But charity in Islam is more like solidarity. So some of this money donated to Islamic charities may well find its way to organisations promoting jihad and supporting suicide bombing including Hamas, Hezbollah, the families of Palestinian suicide bombers and Islamist madrassas in places like Pakistan."

Not everything that muslims do is linked to terrorism
If you do some research and stop taking stein and bergs word for everything you will find that the sharia system might actually fix the American banking system and economy if it weren't run by crooks that took advantage of the ever misinformed American society. Banks in the U.S. have no laws that stop them from "ripping off" people in every aspect. and by adapting to the sharia way it will give cutomers their rights (not being owned by the bank) and make banks profitable and less risky. and therefore we would not be in a mess like we are in now... AGAIN!!
    Thank you.

Did anyone say everything Muslims do is linked to terrorism?

Did anyone mention a Stein or a Berg?

    Is Ben an anti-Semite?

    Are American banks unregulated?

Is any sane person in favor of turning over our banking system to the Saudis?

Does anyone think maybe, just maybe, the Community Redevelopment Act and Fannie and Freddie and the Dems and Wall Street derivatives had something to do with the financial crisis?

Three cheers for all the rights and protections Shariah will bring!

Great info. About time people pay attention to the TRUTH!

I agree that the Shariah system might actually fix American Banking System & Economy. Islamic finance industry is growing at a fast pace and was not much affected by the global banking crisis. Every country is thinking to make use of this new and successful phenomenon.
It will be rational to study the Islamic practices in detail before commenting blindly.
    Thanks..

    Idris,

Your remarks are so thoroughly ill-advised I can only refer you to more information, as if my article and the research referenced was not enough. (Do you people read?)

Google - Shariah Finance Watch dot org

Also - From Bloomberg: Islamic Imperialism in the Form of Shariah-Compliant Finance.

Idris: If you want to become a slave under Islam, I'd suggest you move to a Muslim country. We like our freedom here in America, and will fight to the last man to protect it for our children. Any suggestion we become robots under Shariah will be violently resisted if necessary.

Maybe if we simplify for Ben and Idris. Under Shariah:

    1. Women have no property rights.

    2. You are forced to pay 10% of your income to Islam and much of it finances terrorism and armed aggression against the West and Israel.

    3. Only the privileged prosper.

    4. The people who control the money control your life. At least with the measure of economic freedom we have in the West, we have more self-determination than anyone, ever. If you wish to chain yourself to Shariah, do it elsewhere.

Is that clear enough for you?

A question for Ben and Idris: would you have a problem with the federal government allocating say $500 billion of your tax money to the Catholic Church?

    Allan
Using the system does not mean you are handing the country over to the saudis it just means finding a solution to the mess.
    - yes i did mention a stein but i doesn't mean i hate judaism it just means that there are practices in this country that a lot of people should be punished for.
    - Yes there is something wrong with the banking system when a bank asks for bailout money and gives $17 billion dollars in bonuses. JUST BONUSES.
    ALLAN AGAIN
Women do have rights in everything as long as they follow the law.
you are not forced to give 10% in fact you are not forced to give any. you are highly encouraged to help people who need help.
you said the money goes to fight against isreal!! first the money does not go there and second have you ever thought WHY?? why do they dislike Israel. maybe Israel did something wrong. if someone took your wallet would be pleased?? didn't think so! let alone your land, house and everything you have known

i would not have a problem with tax money going to the catholic church if it is going to be put to good use (not candy i hope). however you my friend are missing the point
it is not a gift to islam and it has nothing to do with the religion or politics or israel
    it is just business.
with all that said..America is still a great country my friend.
