Travel distorts the landscape. Standing still and looking is a very different experience than watching a landscape "go by" as happens in travel by car, by train, by plane or by boat. Yet both ways of experiencing landscapes...
Dr. Jordy Jones is an independent scholar, curator, collector, artist and lover of photography in all its forms. A native Californian and long-time San Francisco resident, he trained as a historian and theoretician of photography at UC Irvine. His 2008 Ph.D. is in visual studies with an emphasis in critical theory. He earned an M.A. in museum studies and a B.A. in conceptual and information arts from SF State.
