Peta's comic book, sent out to children.
What can I even say about this comic book cover? What adult would ever say this is appropriate for children? Inside the comic book about fur, they show an actual picture of a skinned animal! Reading what they say about their parents is even more disturbing!
Ask your mommy how many dead animals she killed to make her fur clothes. Then tell her that you know she paid men to hurt and kill the animals. Everyone knows. And the sooner she stops wearing fur, the sooner the animals will be safe. Until then, keep your doggie and kitty friends away from mommy-she's an animal killer!
Can you believe that? I recently wrote an article about Peta targeting children at a McDonald's with an unhappy meal. These comic books are much worse than those other images of people killing animals that Peta was giving out. These comic books get right to the core of these children by targeting their parents and telling the children their parents aren't safe around animals! Well, if they aren't safe around animals, they probably aren't safe around children, either. At least that is what their children might think.
I thought the unhappy meals went too far but this is just beyond too far. They have crossed the line and just kept on walking. As you may know, I am a vegetarian and I also do not wear any animal skins. For some reason, when I was a child, around 10 or 11, the idea of wearing animal skins didn't sit well with me and I stopped. I wouldn't wear fur or leather or any other animal skin, I don't even wear fake fur. I am so against wearing it that I feel that if I wore fake skins, I would be condoning the use of real skins and I wholly disagree with it.
Yes, the fur industry is disgusting and cruel. Yes, some animals are actually skinned alive. Okay, I am an adult, I can handle that disturbing information. A child does not need to be exposed to such graphic images and language. They certainly do not need to have someone tell them that their parents are murderers!
The people over there at Peta have some definite mental problems. What can we do about Peta? They have brought us a lot of undercover information that helped end-or at least, expose-cruelty such as this video from Ringling Bros. Circus abusing elephants.
I understand being passionate about animal welfare, and I am. However, when I have the chance to educate anyone, especially children, I keep the information age appropriate.
Peta, why not just teach children how to be kind instead of show them the cruelties of the world that they, as children, can do nothing to change. Children are born kind and compassionate, just build on that. Or spend some money on Humane Education programs in schools-come on, you had 33 Million dollars last year!

It is almost as if Peta has morphed into the things that find offensive. Somehow their mission statement needs to be cleaned up in the sense that bringing out the truth of their purpose is a good thing (although I still eat meat and will continue to do so) while their methods have taken on a madness that fibs on the truth. No one's mother stabs a rabbit like that, and if they do then it is time to call social services. Part of the problem with the oranization is that they are mudding their image up so that once again they look like they are on the fringes of social movements. A lot of people care about animals, myself included. If we choose to eat meat and wear leather the least we want is for the animals that have sacrificed their lives to be treated with dignity and not allowed to suffer. Am I the only one who believes in a happy medium?
You gotta love em, or love to hate em. some how i cant help but laugh at this b-flick 50's house wife gone off the bend imagery.
