Etheridge, renowned as much for her personalized blend of pop-infused folk rock as well as her advocacy of progressive social issues, will bring her iconic blend of musical favorites to Table Mountain Casino for one show only on Monday night, August 10. Melissa Etheridge has been a singer songwriter since her early childhood days. At only eight years old, Etheridge received her first guitar, developing her early interest in rock music that has come to reflect a heavy blues influence. Etheridge became a singing sensation in the 90's with her unique vocal style. Her now infamous vocal style, described as a blend of Rod Stewart and Janis Joplin, this multi-Grammy award winning songstress was also awarded an Oscar for her song, "I Need to Wake Up." A rare talent, Etheridge has released nine albums, each filled with songs reflective of her thoughts, feelings and experience.
