If fast food wasn't already easy enough to get (minus waiting in those ridiculous drive-thru lines that sometimes get people even more aggravated than they already are), Burger King now delivers!
Craving a bucket of fat? Well then order the Western BBQ Cheeseburger that has 23 grams? Or are your too lazy to get off the couch to get yourself a handful of salt? Well just pick up your cell phone and order their Spicy CHICK’N CRISP Sandwich (810 mg of sodium in this tiny sandwich).
If you cannot sense the sarcasm, you may be in trouble. While this idea is genius for Burger King's business as it currently ranks in at number two on the "best fast food restaurants" chart, it's less than stellar for your waistline and only increases inactivity (two of the biggest problems here in the United States).
This delivery service does incur a $2 delivery fee and some joints only allow delivery to occur with an order of $8 or $10. You better be ordering their salads for a bunch of your friends! Or perhaps this up charge will turn you off from putting the burger joint’s number in your speed dial.
Don't clog up your local Burger King’s phone lines just yet though, this service has only been tested in Washington, D.C. and is only now starting to expand. Hopefully this trend will not grow any larger, for our waistlines' sake.
Even if Burger King does extend its delivery option, it’s best to nix this opportunity. The better alternative is to order groceries from your local grocery store; these days they deliver too! Not only will you be able to select healthier options for you and your family, but you will also save money in the process.
